Tulika Publishers is a South Indian Multi-lingual Children's Books publishing house. It often uses the imprint Tulika Books, but is separate from the New Delhi–based publisher Tulika Books. History ''Tulika'' was founded in 1996 as an independent publishing house by Radhika Menon. Menon and Indu Chandrasekhar ran a pre-press service called ''Tulika'' to "earn enough money" to publish their own books. Subsequently, Chandrasekhar founded Tulika Books in New Delhi in 1995, and Menon founded Tulika Publishers in Chennai. Tulika Books is an Indian publisher of scholarly and academic books in the humanities and social sciences, with a "broadly left perspective." The Chennai-based Tulika Publishers is a sister company of Tulika Books. History Tulika Books was founded in 1995 and is based in New Delhi. It is managed by the Managing Editor Indira (née Indu) Chandrasekhar, who started her career as a copy editor with Macmillan India in the 1980s and also did some teaching in Bangalore and Delhi Universities. The authors published by Tulika include some of India's best known left intellectuals and academics. Tulika Books is one of the founder-members of the Independent Publishers' Distribution Alternative of India and the Independent Publishing Group. In 2014, it won the Printed Book of the Year award from Publishing Next for the book ''Project Cinema City''. Ashok Rajagopalan
Ashok Rajagopalan (also known under the blogging pseudonym Kenny Wordsmith) is an Indian people, Indian writer and artist for over 500 children's books. Rajagopalan has also worked as a graphic designer, freelance cartoonist, and has contributed to the children's magazines ''Impulse Hoot'' and ''Impulse Toot''. He first began illustrating children's stories with a piece in the 1989 magazine ''Junior Quest''. Before working in illustration Rajagopalan received a mechanical engineering diploma and worked as a marketing executive, but found that he disliked the experience. Radhika Menon
Radhika Menon is an Indian publisher. She is the founder of Tulika books which was started by her publishing business in 1996. Early days She mentioned that as a child she liked reading writers such as Enid Blyton, Charles Hamilton and W.E. Johns. Career In 1978, with an interest in children's education, Menon worked at the J. Krishnamurti school. After J Krishnamurthi school in Chennai, she moved to Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Delhi.
