Independent Women's Football League
The Independent Women's Football League (IWFL) was the first Women's American football league established by women players for women players. The league was founded in 2000, began play in 2001, and played its last season in 2018. Members of the original roster of the Austin Outlaws were the league's founders. Following the establishment of the league as a separate entity from the team, former outlaws players Laurie Frederick, Jaime Bailey and Sandra Plato became the original IWFL executive council. California Quake
The California Quake was a women's professional tackle football team based in Los Angeles County, California. The Quake played for 13 seasons in the Western Conference of the Independent Women's Football League. Home games were played at Carson High School. The 2008 season brought new ownership to the Quake; now owned by longtime veteran player, Catherine B. Vivo. During the California Quake vs New Mexico Menace game on May 24, 2008, kicker Sarah "Ollie" Oliver broke a women's tackle football record by successfully kicking a 44-yard field goal. On June 7, 2008, the California Quake defeated the New Mexico Menace 35–0, finishing the 2008 regular season undefeated and on top of the Tier 1 Pacific Southwest Division. The Sacramento Sirens are a women's semi-professional American football team, located in Sacramento, California. The team has compiled one of the most successful records in women's full tackle football. History In 2001, their first year of existence, the Sirens won the divisional title and advanced to the playoffs of the Women's American Football League. In 2002 the Sirens took the league title in the championship game against the Arizona Caliente. Joining a larger league in 2003, the Independent Women's Football League (IWFL), the Sirens traveled to New York to capture their second consecutive championship title, beating the New York Sharks. The So Cal Scorpions were a semi-pro women's American football team based in San Diego, California. In 2011, they played in the Women's Football Alliance after five seasons in the defunct Women's Professional Football League, The ownership brought the team to a spring league. Seattle Majestics
The Seattle Majestics are a women's American football team based in Seattle, Washington. The Seattle Majestics play in the WNFC. Home games are played at French Field on the campus of Kent Meridian High School in Kent, Washington. The team began as the Tacoma Majestics in 2002 before moving to Seattle in 2006 and merging with the former Women's American Football League franchise, the Seattle Warbirds. The franchise is currently owned by Scott McCarron. Sponsorships and fundraising under the team's non-profit 501c3 status provide finances for the team, but players also have to contribute. Rincon High School
Rincon High School is a public high school in Tucson, Arizona. The school serves about 1,100 students in grades 9 to 12 in the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD). Since 1985, the campus has been shared with University High School, a separate accelerated institution. Courses from each school can be combined, and athletics and fine arts are combined under the Rincon/University(RUHS) name. The two schools do field separate teams for academic competitive events.
