Tuas Lamp Post 1
Tuas Lamp Post 1 is a cycling attraction in Singapore. It is the only lamp post in Singapore on which it is legal to paste stickers. This has led to it being covered in stickers as high as 10 meters up. It is located on Tuas South Boulevard, near the Tuas Mega Port, about 13km from the Tuas Checkpoint. History Tuas Lamp Post 1 first gained prominence in 2014, when it was the destination of a group of 60 cyclists in the LoveCyclingSG group during a 50km bike ride from West Coast Park to Tuas. Stopping in Tuas at the end of their "Song Song to Jurong" event, a co-founder of the group, Woon Taiwoon, pasted a "Pedal Until Shiok" sticker on the lamp post. The sticker was later removed by the authorities in routine cleaning by contractors. However, the lamp post gained fame and other cyclists began riding there to take photos and paste their own stickers. The 2020–21 Singapore circuit breaker measures were a stay-at-home order and '' cordon sanitaire'' implemented as a preventive measure by the Government of Singapore in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country on 7 April 2020. The measures were brought into legal effect by the Minister for Health with the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020, published on 7 April 2020. Vandalism Act
The Vandalism Act 1966 is a statute of the Parliament of Singapore that criminalizes a number of different acts done in relation to public and private property, namely, stealing, destroying or damaging public property; and, without the property owner's written consent, writing, drawing, painting, marking or inscribing on property; affixing posters, placards, ''etc.'', to the property; and suspending or displaying on or from the property any flag, banner, ''etc.'' In addition to a fine or jail term, the Act imposes mandatory corporal punishment of between three and eight strokes of the cane for second or subsequent convictions. Tuas
Tuas ( ) is a planning area located within the West Region of Singapore. It is bounded by the Western Water Catchment to its north, Pioneer to its east and the Straits of Johor to its west. Tuas also shares a maritime boundary with the Western Islands planning area to its east. It has six subzones, Tengeh, Tuas Bay, Tuas North, Tuas Promenade, Tuas View and Tuas View Extension. Etymology The name Tuas is derived from a fishing method previously used by coastal Malays. Shade was created by using coconut fronds as a shelter with a net spread underneath the shade in the water.
