Tróndur Bogason
Tróndur Bogason (born 5 April 1976 as Tróndur Bogason Hansen) is a Faroese composer and musician. He composes classical works, but he also arranges music for pop, rock and folk artists. He is married to the Faroese singer Eivør Pálsdóttir with whom he also works; they arranged her album Room together. Bogason was educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. He has been nominated three times for the Nordic Council Music Prize and is one of the few who have received a three-year grant from Mentanargrunnur Landsins. Career He was born and grew up in the capital of the Faroe Islands, Tórshavn. In the nineties he moved to Copenhagen to study. While living in Denmark he played an active role in Faroese music amongst other Faroese musicians in Copenhagen. He was an active member of the first Faroese rap band MC-Hár, which plays rap and rock music in the Faroese language. Ólavur Jakobsen
Ólavur Jakobsen (born 1964 in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands), classical guitarist. Studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen with Ingolf Olsen and received his diploma exam in 1995. Further studies in Paris with French guitarist Roland Dyens. Has participated in masterclasses with e.g. Sir Julian Bream and David Russell. Olavur Jakobsen is the first Faroese classical guitarist to hold a master's degree and also to perform at a professional level. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has toured extensively all over Europe, South Africa and the United States. He is a former member of the Copenhagen-based Corona Guita Quartet He has premièred a vast number of compositions by e.g. Per Nørgård, Axel Borup-Jørgensen, Pierre Dørge, Sunleif Rasmussen, Edvard Nyholm Debess, Kári Bæk, Tróndur Bogason and Kristian Blak and has worked with composers such as Gavin Bryars and Hsueh-Yung Shen. Bergtóra Hanusardóttir
Bergtóra Hanusardóttir (born 15 November 1946 in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands) is a Faroese writer and orthodontist. Biography She is the daughter of Mia Trónd from Tórshavn and Hanus D. Jensen from the small island Skúvoy, and is the eldest of four sisters, the others being Rannvá, Svanna and Marjun. Her sister Marjun Hanusardóttir is the Permanent Secretary (director) of the Prime Minister's Office. Bergtóra has had two children with Bogi Hansen: composer Tróndur Bogason (1976), who is married to the well-known Faroese singer Eivør Pálsdóttir and Ragnheiður Bogadóttir (1979). As a young woman Bergtóra moved to Copenhagen in order to study dentistry. On finishing her studies in 1970, she trained as an orthodontist, finishing in 1975.
