Truly (band)
Truly is an American rock band formed in the wake of the grunge era. It featured singer-guitarist Robert Roth, bassist Hiro Yamamoto, and drummer Mark Pickerel. Yamamoto and Pickerel were founding members respectively of Soundgarden and Screaming Trees. While not a commercially successful group like some of their Seattle contemporaries, the band lasted a decade with two studio albums to their name. "Truly" is the debut solo single by American singer-songwriter Lionel Richie. Resuming where he left off with D-flat major tunes "Sail On (song), Sail On" and particularly "Still (Commodores song), Still" when he was lead for the Commodores, Richie wrote the song and co-produced it with James Anthony Carmichael. Released as the first single from his Lionel Richie (album), self-titled debut album in 1982, "Truly" debuted on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 on 9 October 1982 and climbed to No. 1 on 27 November – 4 December 1982. ''Cigarettes After Sex'' is the debut studio album by American dream pop band Cigarettes After Sex. It was released on June 9, 2017, by Partisan Records and received positive reviews from critics. As of May 2018, it had sold over 20,000 copies in the United Kingdom. Recording The recording sessions for ''Cigarettes After Sex'' took place in 2015, in Brooklyn, New York, with most songs being recorded live with a small audience. Truly (brand)
Truly is a brand of hard seltzer and vodka produced by the Boston Beer Company introduced in 2016. History Truly was launched as a hard seltzer brand in 2016. In 2019 Truly and competitor White Claw together controlled 85% of the hard seltzer market. Truly reformulated their flavors in 2019 in order to deal with increased competition. Also in 2019 Truly was offered on an airline for the first time through a partnership with JetBlue. The Truly brand was one of the largest drivers of Boston Beer Company's sales growth over this period. In 2021 the Boston Beer Company said that the hard seltzer craze was coming to an end sooner than expected which was negatively impacting market growth. At that time Truly and competitor White Claw controlled 75% of the hard seltzer market. A 2021 marketing effort saw the brand satirize Dry January as "Try January" inducing millennials to try Truly. Jeff Truly
Jeff Truly (July 21, 1861 – August 25, 1946) was an American jurist and Democratic politician. He was a justice of the Supreme Court of Mississippi from 1903 to 1906, and a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives in 1886. Early life Jeff Truly was born on July 21, 1861, in Fayette, Mississippi, the son of Confederate Army veteran Richard Harrison Truly and his wife, Mary (Key) Truly. His siblings included a brother named Numa V. (died 1950) and a sister named Eva (–1947) who later married Joseph Withers Power, the Secretary of State of Mississippi from 1901 to 1926. Truly attended Lusher's Private Academy in New Orleans, Louisiana, before attending A. D. Campbell's school in Natchez, Mississippi, in 1875. He then read law, first in the office of J. J.
