Trpimir I Of Croatia
Trpimir I (, ) was a duke () in Croatia from around 845 until his death in 864. He is considered the founder of the Trpimirović dynasty that ruled in Croatia, with interruptions, from around 845 until 1091. Although he was formally vassal of the Frankish Emperor Lothair I, Trpimir used Frankish-Byzantine conflicts to rule on his own. Reign Trpimir succeeded Croatia's Duke Mislav around 845, ascended the throne in Klis and expanded the early Roman stronghold into Klis Fortress, the capital of his domain. Trpimir battled successfully against his neighbours, the Byzantine coastal cities under the strategos of Zadar in 846. In 854, he repulsed an attack by an army of the Bulgarian Khan Boris I and concluded a peace treaty with him, exchanging gifts. The Bulgarians and Croatians coexisted peacefully after that time. Trpimir Kutle (born 2 March 1976 in Zagreb) is a male freestyle swimmer from Croatia. He represented his native country at the 1998 World Aquatics Championships in Perth, Western Australia, competing in two individual events (5 km and 25 km freestyle). Trpimir Macan
Trpimir Macan (born 20 August 1935) is a Croatian historian and lexicographer. He was born in Dubrovnik. He studied history in Zagreb and Sarajevo, where he graduated in 1959. In 1971 he received his Ph.D. in Zagreb with a thesis ''Life and work of Miho Klaić'' (''Život i rad Miha Klaića''), which was in 1980 published as a monograph titled ''Miho Klaić''. He worked in Metković, whence he relocated to Zagreb, and since 1965 he has been working at the Miroslav Krleža Lexicographical Institute as an editor of historical encyclopedias and lexicons. He is the serving Editor-In-Chief of the Croatian Biographical Lexicon (since 1990) and an anthology ''Biobibliographica'' (since 2003). His scientific research deals with the history of Dubrovnik and Neretva region. He has authored a number of historical contributions to Croatian history and politicians of the 19th and 20th century (Miho Klaić, Ivan Kukuljević Sakcinski, Petar Preradović, Stjepan Radić).
