Troy Wozniak
Troy Wozniak (born 6 January 1978 in Blacktown, New South Wales) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer in the Australasian National Rugby League (NRL) competition. He played for the Balmain Tigers, Parramatta Eels and Wests Tigers as well as Widnes Vikings in the Super League. Wozniak was primarily a utility player. Playing career Wozniak made his first grade debut for Balmain in round 6 of the 1999 NRL season against North Sydney at Leichhardt Oval. He made one further appearance for Balmain which was a 64–12 loss against North Sydney at North Sydney Oval. After Balmain merged with Western Suburbs to form the Wests Tigers, Wozniak was not offered a contract to play for the new team, and he joined Parramatta. He played ten games for the club in the 2000 NRL season, scoring his first try in a 24-22 defeat of the Auckland Warriors in round 9. Blacktown, New South Wales
Blacktown is a suburb in the City of Blacktown, in Greater Western Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Blacktown is located west of the Sydney central business district. It is one of the most multicultural places within Greater Sydney. History Prior to the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788, the area of today's Blacktown was inhabited by different groups of the Darug people including the Warmuli, based around what is now Prospect, and their neighbours the Gomerigal from the South Creek area and the Wawarawarry from the Eastern Creek area. It is estimated that fifty to ninety percent of the Darug died of smallpox and other introduced diseases within a few years of the British arrival. Governor Arthur Phillip began granting land in the area to white settlers in 1791. Auckland Warriors
The New Zealand Warriors are a professional rugby league football club based in Auckland, New Zealand that competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) premiership and is the League's only team from outside Australia. They were formed in 1995 as the Auckland Warriors, and are officially known as the One New Zealand Warriors for sponsorship reasons. The Warriors are coached by Andrew Webster and captained by Tohu Harris. The Warriors are based at Mount Smart Stadium in the Auckland suburb of Penrose. For the 1995 season the newly formed Auckland Warriors became the first club from outside Australia to be admitted to the Australian Rugby League's premiership when it expanded from 16 to 20 teams. As a result of the Super League war in the mid-1990s, Auckland left the ARL to compete in the Super League competition of 1997, before joining the re-unified NRL the following year.
