Troy Bell (politician)
Troy Stephen Bell (born 5 September 1973) is an Australian politician representing the South Australian House of Assembly seat of Mount Gambier. Representing the South Australian Division of the Liberal Party of Australia at the 2014 state election, he became an independent in 2017, after being accused of misappropriating more than $2 million of public money. In September 2024 a South Australian District Court jury found Troy Bell guilty of 20 counts of theft and five counts of dishonest dealings with documents after more than two days of jury deliberations. On 15 October 2024, Bell refused to step down in accordance with section 31 of the Constitution Act 1934, and vowed to appeal the conviction. Mount Gambier is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It covers the far south-east corner of the state containing the City of Mount Gambier and District Council of Grant local government areas. It is centred on the city and extinct volcano of Mount Gambier. Donald William Pegler is an Australian politician. He was an independent member of the South Australian House of Assembly electorate of Mount Gambier from the 2010 election to the 2014 election. 2014 South Australian State Election
The 2014 South Australian state election elected members to the 53rd Parliament of South Australia on 15 March 2014, to fill all 47 seats in the House of Assembly (lower house) and 11 of 22 seats in the Legislative Council (upper house).
