Trouble (TV Channel)
Trouble was a subscription television channel operating in the United Kingdom and Ireland that was owned and operated by Virgin Media Television. Trouble had a key demographic of young adults and teenagers, aged between 15 and 24. The channel aired primarily American and Australian imports, with only a small margin of programmes being British. History In 1992, now-defunct television channel The Children's Channel restructured its late-afternoon programming to focus on a teenage audience, by launching a block called "TCC". TCC ran initially from 5:00pm-7:00pm but beginning on 1 September 1993 to coincide with the launch of The Family Channel and Sky Multichannels, the channel's space was changed to end at 5:00pm, including the TCC block, which now started at 3:00pm. Living TV Group
Living TV Group was a British television consortium originally called Flextech from 1988 before becoming a subsidiary of Virgin Media and renamed to Virgin Media Television. It was bought by Sky UK, BSkyB in 2010 and renamed to Living TV Group, after which it was integrated into Sky and closed down. Challenge (TV channel), Challenge is the only remaining TV channel of the group that is still broadcasting. Challenge is a British free-to-air television channel owned by Sky Group's Sky UK subsidiary, themselves owned by American conglomerate Comcast. The channel is dedicated to game shows from the UK, including acquired classic and contemporary shows. Challenge is currently available on terrestrial television and Free ad-supported streaming television, FAST platforms, such as Samsung TV Plus, along with sister channel Sky Mix. An Irish feed has been available since November 2013 on cable and satellite. It later launched on DTT (Saorview) on 1 February 2023; joining sister channel Sky News on the service. Sky Living was a British pay television television channel, channel owned and operated by Sky Limited, Sky. The channel's programming was aimed mainly at women and young adults. It originally launched as UK Living yet became Sky Living by 2011. Sky Multichannels was a package of analogue television services offered by BSkyB on the Astra satellites at 19.2° east from 1 September 1993 to 27 September 2001, which started off with 15 channels before expanding to over 40. History Overview The service started on 1 September 1993, based on the idea from chief executive officer Sam Chisholm and Rupert Murdoch of converting the company's business strategy to an entirely fee-based concept. The new package included four channels formerly available free-to-air on Astra's satellites, as well as introducing new channels. Some of the channels had been broadcast either in the clear or soft encrypted (i.e. a VideoCrypt decoder was required, but without a subscription card) prior to their addition to the Multichannels package. The Children's Channel, also known as TCC, was a British-based pan-European children's television channel in Europe, Asia and Africa, which was owned by Flextech in London, England, UK. It began broadcasting on the original Eutelsat satellite on 1 September 1984. History Early years The Children's Channel was launched on the original Eutelsat satellite on 1 September 1984, almost exclusively to cable households owing to the low proliferation of domestic satellite dishes in Europe, the Middle East and Africa at that time.
