In astrology, ''Sidereal time, sidereal'' and ''Tropical year, tropical'' are terms that refer to two different systems of Ecliptic coordinate system, ecliptic coordinates used to divide the ecliptic into twelve "signs". Each sign is divided into 30 degrees, making a total of 360 degrees. The terms sidereal and tropical may also refer to two different definitions of a year, applied in sidereal solar calendars or tropical solar calendars. Sidereal Time
Sidereal time ("sidereal" pronounced ) is a system of timekeeping used especially by astronomers. Using sidereal time and the celestial coordinate system, it is easy to locate the positions of celestial objects in the night sky. Sidereal time is a "time scale that is based on Earth's rate of rotation measured relative to the fixed stars". A sidereal day (also known as the sidereal rotation period) represents the time for one rotation about the planet axis relative to the stars. Viewed from the same location, a star seen at one position in the sky will be seen at the same position on another night at the same time of day (or night), if the day is defined as a sidereal day. The theory of synoptical astrology was created by László Wladimir Orosz, Hungarian philosopher and astrologer. This synopsis considers the tropical and the sidereal zodiacs simultaneously with the constellational zodiac or the real zodiacal constellations. Astrology And Science
Astrology consists of a number of belief systems that hold that there is a relationship between astronomical phenomena and events or descriptions of personality in the human world. Astrology has been rejected by the scientific community as having no explanatory power for describing the universe. Scientific testing has found no evidence to support the premises or purported effects outlined in astrological traditions. Where astrology has made falsifiable predictions, it has been falsified. The term Great Year has multiple meanings. In scientific astronomy, it refers to the time required for the equinoxes to complete one full cycle around the ecliptic, a period of approximately 25,800 years. According to Ptolemy, his teacher Hipparchus discovered this phenomenon by comparing the position of the vernal equinox against the fixed stars, noting that it Axial precession, shifts westward by about one degree every 72 years. This means that a full cycle through all the zodiac constellations takes roughly 25,920 years.
