Trolleybuses In Bari
The Bari trolleybus system () formed part of the public transport network of the city of Bari and the province of Bari, in the Regions of Italy, region of Apulia, Italy. Trolleybuses served the city from 1939 to 1987, on a network of several routes. In 1990, less than three years after closure of the last route, it was decided to reopen one route of the former system, route 4 to Carbonara di Bari, but very little further progress was made over the next few years. In public transport, a short turn, short working or turn-back is a service on a bus route or rail line that does not operate along the full length of the route. Short turn trips are often scheduled and published in a Public transport timetable, timetable, but they may also be unscheduled. Public transport operators use short turns for a variety of reasons, including delays, infrastructure limitations, and uneven passenger demand. A dual-mode bus is a bus that can run independently on power from two different sources, typically electricity from overhead lines like a trolleybus or from batteries like a hybrid bus, alternated with conventional fossil fuel (generally diesel fuel). In contrast to other hybrid buses, dual-mode buses can run forever exclusively on their electric power source (wires). Several of the examples listed below involve the use of dual-mode buses to travel through a tunnel on electric overhead power.
