Tristin McCollum
Tristin McCollum (born May 3, 1999) is an American professional American football, football Safety (gridiron football position), safety for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Sam Houston Bearkats football, Sam Houston Bearkats and was signed by the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent after the 2022 NFL draft. Early life McCollum was born on May 3, 1999. His father Cory Carr had a stint with the Chicago Bulls basketball team and his twin brother, Zyon McCollum, Zyon, also played defensive back with him through college. They both attended Ball High School in Galveston, Texas, with Tristin being ranked a two-star recruit by 247Sports and the 40th-best player at his position in state. Safety (gridiron Football Position)
Safety is a position in gridiron football on the defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. While American (11-player) formations generally use two safeties, Canadian (12-player) formations generally have one safety and two defensive halfbacks, a position not used in the American game. The Southland Conference, abbreviated as SLC, is a collegiate athletic conference which operates in the South Central United States (specifically Texas and Louisiana). It participates in the NCAA's Division I for all sports; for football, it participates in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). In gridiron football, a sack occurs when the quarterback (or another offensive player acting as a passer) is tackled behind the line of scrimmage before throwing a forward pass, when the quarterback is tackled behind the line of scrimmage in the " pocket" and without clear intent, or when a passer runs out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage due to defensive pressure. The Sam Houston Bearkats are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Sam Houston State University, located in Huntsville, Texas. Sam Houston's colors are orange and white.
