Tristan Knowles
Tristan Malcolm Knowles, OAM (born 25 April 1983) is an Australian wheelchair basketball player and won a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics and silver medal at the 2012 London Paralympics. He competed at 2020 Summer Paralympics, his fifth Games. Personal Knowles was born on 25 April 1983 in Wodonga, Victoria. He became an above the knee amputee as a result of cancer. He went to the University of Wollongong where he earned a degree in commerce. When not playing basketball, he is a financial planning manager with the Commonwealth Bank. He established the Tristan Knowles Kids Cancer Foundation. Basketball Knowles first played wheelchair basketball in 1999. He is a 4 point player and plays in the guard-forward position. Brendan Dowler
Brendan John Dowler, OAM is an Australian Paralympian, and coaches wheelchair basketball. Personal Dowler is from Wollongong, New South Wales, has three siblings and is married with 2 children. He attended the University of Wollongong, earning a degree in IT. He became paraplegic as a result of a spinal tumour. When not coaching wheelchair basketball, he is an IT Manager. ' In 2008, he was working for Pillar Administration. He was still working with the company in 2017, having been taken over by Mercer Administration Services. 2014 Wheelchair Basketball World Championship
Separate men's and women's Wheelchair Basketball World Championship tournaments were held in 2014. The women's tournament was held at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, Canada between 20 and 28 June 2014. It was the largest women's wheelchair basketball world championship in history, with 12 national teams participating. Each team selected a squad of 12 players for the tournament. Medalists Awards Inge Huitzing (Netherlands) was named the most valuable player of the tournament. She was the tournament's top point scorer with 175 points, an average of 21.8 points per game.
