Joshua Booth Green (born February 11, 1970) is an American politician and physician serving since 2022 as the ninth governor of Hawaii. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as the 14th lieutenant governor of Hawaii from 2018 to 2022, a member of the Hawaii Senate from 2008 to 2018 and as a member of the Hawaii House of Representatives from 2004 to 2008. Early life and education Green was born on February 11, 1970, in Kingston, New York. He was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Ryan I. Yamane (born October 24, 1969) is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Hawaii House of Representatives from November 2004 to January 2023 representing District 37. Yamane was reelected to a two-year term in the 2022 Hawaiʻi House of Representatives election, but resigned on January 3, 2023 to accept an appointment in Governor Josh Green's cabinet. Gov.
