Triplemanía XI
Triplemanía XI was the eleventh Triplemanía professional wrestling show promoted by AAA. The show took place on June 15, 2003, in Naucalpan, Mexico. The Main event featured an Eight-man "Atómicos" tag team match where the team of Lizmark, La Parka, Octagón and Super Caló faced the team of Abismo Negro, Cibernético and The Headhunters. Production Background In early 1992 Antonio Peña was working as a booker and storyline writer for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), Mexico's largest and the world's oldest wrestling promotion, and was frustrated by CMLL's very conservative approach to ''lucha libre''. He joined forced with a number of younger, very talented wrestlers who felt like CMLL was not giving them the recognition they deserved and decided to split from CMLL to create Asistencia Asesoría y Administración later simply known as "AAA" or Triple A. El Zorro (wrestler)
Jesús Cristóbal Martínez Rodriguez (born July 25, 1975) is a Mexican ''luchador'' (professional wrestler) who is best known as El Zorro. His gimmick started out very similar to the fictional character Zorro complete with mask, but in recent years it has evolved and the mask has been eliminated. He is best known for his work in the Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) promotion in Mexico, where he is a former AAA Mega Championship, AAA Mega Champion. Antonio Peña
Antonio Hipolito Peña Herrada (June 13, 1951 – October 5, 2006) was a Mexican professional wrestling promoter who founded the Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) promotion in 1992. Peña's promotion reached its height of popularity in the early 1990s prior to the 1994 downturn of the Mexican economy, but continues to operate. Peña's AAA is the promotion largely responsible for bringing the ''lucha libre'' style to the United States, with AAA wrestlers such as Rey Misterio Jr., Psicosis, La Parka, Konnan and others eventually competing for American promotions. Peña began his involvement in professional wrestling as an in-ring wrestler, or '' luchador'', working under various masks as El Genio, Espectro Jr., Kahoz, Espectro de Ultratumba, and Dalia Negra before retiring in 1986 to work in the promotional side of wrestling. Esther Moreno
María Esther Moreno León (born February 20, 1969) is a Mexican '' luchadora'', or female professional wrestler best known under the ring name Esther Moreno. In AAA she is a former 2 time AAA Reina de Reinas Champion. Professional wrestling career In the early 1990s Esther and her sister Cynthia Moreno travelled to Japan to wrestle for All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling. On April 21, 1991 the Moreno sisters defeated Etsuko Mita and Mima Shimoda to win the AJW Tag Team Championship, making them the first Mexican team to hold a championship in Japan. In professional wrestling, a face (babyface) is a heroic, "good guy", "good-doer", or "fan favorite" wrestler, booked (scripted) by the promotion with the aim of being cheered by fans. They are portrayed as heroes relative to the heel wrestlers, who are analogous to villains. Narrative Thread
