Triple M Bendigo
Triple M Bendigo (official callsign: 3BBO) is a commercial radio station owned and operated by Southern Cross Austereo as part of the Triple M network. It broadcasts to Central Victoria from studios in the Bendigo suburb of Golden Square. The station was founded in 1931 by AWA as 3BO, initially on the AM band at a frequency of 970 kilohertz, before converting to the FM band as 3BO FM on 5 April 1993. In 1987 it was sold by AWA to Wesgo. It was sold again in 1992. On 15 December 2016, it was rebranded Triple M. Triple M's Golden Square studios produce and air local programs from 6am–10am weekdays, including a four-hour breakfast show presented by Bryan Coghlan and Jules Greenhalf. Bendigo ( ) is an Australian city in north-central Victoria. The city is located in the Bendigo Valley near the geographical centre of the state and approximately north-west of Melbourne, the state capital. As of 2022, Bendigo has a population of 103,818 making it Australia's 19th-largest city by population. Bendigo is the fourth-largest inland city in Australia and the fourth-most populous city in Victoria. Bendigo is administered by the City of Greater Bendigo, formerly the City of Bendigo. Golden Square, Victoria
Golden Square is a suburb of Bendigo in Victoria (state), Victoria, Australia. Its local government area is the City of Greater Bendigo. At the 2021 Australian census, 2021 census, Golden Square had a population of 9,220. History Gold was discovered in the bed of the Bendigo Creek in the spring of 1851, about 200 metres from where the Golden Square Hotel now stands, sparking the gold rush that established the Australian city of Bendigo. Two women, Mrs Kennedy and Mrs Farrell, are commonly credited with having made the discovery.
