Tripictures
Tripictures is a Spanish film distribution and production company. It is based in Madrid. History Tripictures was founded in 1987 by Felipe Ortiz, Pepe Hueva and Luis Ortiz. In 1995, Tripictures reached a deal with Mandalay Pictures for the release of their films in the Spanish market, while the company inked another deal with New Line Cinema in 2001. Tripictures ventured into international co-production with a minority stake on ''Asterix at the Olympic Games''. In 2006, mass media group Vocento acquired a majority stake (67%) in Tripictures. In 2013, Tripictures and DeAPlaneta reached an agreement for the Spanish distribution of DreamWorks films. In 2014, Vocento disinvested in the distribution business of Tripictures to cut losses, selling to Tripictures International (chaired by Tripictures CEO Felipe Ortiz) while retaining control over the portfolio. ''All the Names of God'' () is a 2023 Spanish action thriller film directed by Daniel Calparsoro and written by Gemma Ventura which stars Luis Tosar alongside Inma Cuesta. Plot In the wake of a terrorist attack, taxi driver Santiago Gómez Lasarte "Santi" is taken hostage by the surviving terrorist Hamza and subsequently becomes a walking human bomb in Gran Vía. ''Society of the Snow'' () is a 2023 survival drama film directed by J. A. Bayona and based on Pablo Vierci's 2008 book of the same name, which details the true story of a Uruguayan rugby team's experience in 1972 after Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 crashed in the Andes Mountains. A co-production between Spain and the United States, the film has a cast composed of Uruguayan and Argentine actors, most of whom are newcomers, and was shot mainly in Sierra Nevada, Spain. The film closed the 80th Venice International Film Festival in an Out of Competition slot. It was theatrically released in Uruguay on 13 December 2023, in Spain on 15 December 2023, and in the US on 22 December 2023, before streaming on Netflix on 4 January 2024. Biography Daniel Calparsoro López-Tapia was born in Barcelona on 11 May 1968, although he was raised in between Hondarribia and San Sebastián, in Gipuzkoa.
