Trino
Trino () is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Vercelli in the Italian region Piedmont, located about northeast of Turin and about southwest of Vercelli, at the foot of the Montferrat hills. Trino borders the following municipalities: Bianzè, Camino, Costanzana, Fontanetto Po, Livorno Ferraris, Morano sul Po, Palazzolo Vercellese, Ronsecco, and Tricerro. Trino was the site of Enrico Fermi Nuclear Power Plant. The Romanesque church of San Michele in Insula (built in the 10th–11th centuries) has 12th-century frescoes. The Lucedio Abbey is also located in the municipal territory. Enrico Fermi Nuclear Power Plant (Italy)
Enrico Fermi Nuclear Power Plant was a nuclear power plant at Trino (often referred to as ‘Trino Vercellese’, meaning ‘Trino in the Province of Vercelli’), in north-west Italy. Consisting of one 260 megawatt pressurized water reactor (PWR) from the vendor Westinghouse Electric Corporation, it operated from 1964 until 1990. Trino was in 1964 the third ever commercially operated PWR worldwide, and it had the second highest megawatt-capacity of them. It was closed down following the Italian nuclear power referendum, 1987. The experimental enrichment plant, EUREX Eurex Exchange is a German derivatives exchange which primarily offers trading in European based derivatives. Lucedio Abbey
Lucedio Abbey (Italian: ''Abbazia di Santa Maria di Lucedio'') is a 12th-century former Cistercian foundation near Trino, which is now in the province of Vercelli, north-west Italy. It played an important role in the development of rice production in the region. History The abbey was founded in 1124, when Renier I of Montferrat provided an extensive tract of marsh, heath and woodland known as ''Locez'', on whose agricultural development the future prosperity of Lucedio would depend. As the second daughter-house of La Ferté Abbey (after Tiglieto Abbey, in the Ligurian Apennines), this was one of the earliest Cistercian monasteries in Italy. Banfora
Banfora is a city in southwestern Burkina Faso, with a population of 117,452 (2019 census) making it the sixth most populous city in Burkina Faso. It is the capital of the Comoe province. The city lies south-west of Bobo-Dioulasso, on the Abidjan – Ouagadougou Railway. The Cascades de Karfiguéla are a series of waterfalls close to Banfora. History The first settlers were the Karaboro who with the Gouin and Turkas constitute the city's main ethnic groups. They are all from the south of Burkina Faso.
