Trinbago Knight Riders
The Trinbago Knight Riders (formerly the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel) are a franchise cricket team of the Caribbean Premier League based in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The Red Steel was one of the original six teams created for the tournament's inaugural 2013 season. Their home ground is Queen's Park Oval. They are the most successful team in the CPL, with 4 titles as of the end of the 2023 season of Caribbean Premier League. In 2015, Knight Riders Group, the parent company of Indian Premier League team Kolkata Knight Riders, purchased stake in the Red Steel. The Red Steel went on to win the 2015 tournament. After the season, the name was changed to Trinbago Knight Riders. Phil Simmons
Philip Verant Simmons (born 18 April 1963) is a Trinidadian cricket coach and former player who is currently a coach of the Bangladesh national cricket team. He played international cricket for the West Indies from 1987 to 1999 as an opening batsman and right-arm medium pace bowler. He excelled in the One Day International (ODI) format and represented the West Indies at three World Cups. After retiring from playing, Simmons spent two periods as head coach of the West Indies (2015–2016 and 2019–2022). He has also spent stints in charge of Zimbabwe (2004–2005), Ireland (2007–2015), and Afghanistan (2017–2019). The 2014 Indian Premier League final was a day/night Twenty20 cricket match on 1 June 2014 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, which was played between Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders to determine the winner of the 2014 season of the Indian Premier League, an annual Twenty20 cricket tournament in India. Winning the toss, Kolkata Knight Riders elected to field first. Kings XI Punjab set up a big total of 199/4 off 20 overs for their opposition. The Women's Caribbean Premier League is a women's Twenty20 cricket competition organised by Cricket West Indies. The inaugural tournament took place in 2022, running alongside the equivalent men's tournament. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field, at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails (small sticks) balanced on three stumps. The Mzansi Super League (MSL) was a Twenty20 cricket (T20) franchise league held in South Africa. The competition was established in 2018 by Cricket South Africa (CSA) as a replacement for the failed T20 Global League, but only two editions were played before the competition was itself canceled.
