Trikolonoi
Trikolonoi ( el, Τρικόλωνοι) is a former municipality in Arcadia, Peloponnese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Gortynia, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 102.031 km2. The municipal unit includes the villages of Stemnitsa (the former municipal seat), Syrna, Pavlia, Palamari and Elliniko. Trikolonoi is located southeast of Dimitsana, west of Tripoli and north of Megalopoli. In 2011 Trikolonoi had a population of 578. The place takes its name from the ancient town of Tricoloni. Stemnitsa
Stemnitsa ( el, Στεμνίτσα) is a mountain village in the municipal unit of Trikolonoi, Arcadia, Peloponnese, Greece. It was the seat of the former municipality Trikolonoi. Elliniko ( el, Ελληνικό, before 1927: Μουλάτσι - ''Moulatsi'') is a mountain village in western Arcadia, Greece (the original village name of “Moulatsi” was referenced in Ottoman Empire documents as far back as 1515). It is part of the municipal unit of Trikolonoi. It is situated on a mountain slope on the left bank of the river Lousios. It is 4 km south of Stemnitsa, 4 km east of Atsicholos, 5 km northeast of Karytaina and 14 km northwest of Megalopoli. The ruins of the ancient city Gortys are on the right bank of the river Lousios, near the road from Elliniko to Atsicholos. Syrna
Syrna ( el, Σύρνα) is a mountain village and a community in the municipal unit of Trikolonoi, western Arcadia, Greece. Syrna is situated on a mountain slope above the right bank of the river Alfeios, at about 800 m elevation. In 2011 Syrna had a population of 60 for the village and 62 for the community, which includes the village Ano Kalyvia. Syrna is 2 km northwest of Palamari, 4 km southeast of Elliniko, 6 km northeast of Karytaina and 6 km southeast of Stemnitsa. Pavlia ( el, Παύλια) is a mountain village in the municipal unit of Trikolonoi, Arcadia, Greece. It is located at 700 m elevation on a mountain slope, overlooking the plain of Megalopoli. It is 2 km east of Palamari, 2 km west of Paliomiri, 4.5 km west of Lykochia, 9 km southeast of Stemnitsa and 14 km north of Megalopoli. The location of the ancient city Thyraion has been identified with that of the present village Pavlia. Pavlia had a population of 55 in 2011. Palamari ( el, Παλαμάρι) is a mountain village and a community in the municipal unit Trikolonoi, in Arcadia, Greece. It is located on a mountain slope north of the valley of the river Alfeios, at about 700 m elevation. It is 2 km west of Pavlia, 7 km east of Karytaina, 8 km southeast of Stemnitsa and 10 km north of Megalopoli. In 2011 Palamari had a population of 15 for the village, and 66 for the community, which includes the village Psari. The site of the ancient town of Thyraeum is located nearby. Arcadia ( el, Αρκαδία, ''Arkadía'' ) is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the administrative region of Peloponnese. Dimitsana
Dimitsana ( el, Δημητσάνα) is a mountain village and a former municipality in Arcadia, Peloponnese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Gortynia, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 110.759 km2. Dimitsana is built on the ruins of the ancient town Teuthis. The population of the village is 342 (2011 census), while it was 611 in 2001. It has been registered as a traditional settlement. Dimitsana is built on a mountain slope at an elevation of 950 meters. From its southern side a marvelous view of Megalopolis plain and Taygetus is provided. Vytina
Vytina ( el, Βυτίνα, ''Vytína'') is a mountain village and a former municipality in Arcadia, Peloponnese, Greece. It is considered a traditional settlement. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Gortynia, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 139.309 km2. The seat of the municipality was the village Vytina. The village is located at the foot of the mountain range Mainalo. The area produces marble, a variation called the Black of Vytina.
