Triglav (computer)
Triglav was a computer from Slovenia developed in the 1980s and manufactured by Iskra Delta. It came to the market in 1985. It had options for three different central processing units ( DEC J11, Intel 80286 and Motorola 68010) and could therefore run several different operating systems that were popular at the time (such as μDelta/M - based on Micro/RSX, Xenix, OS-9, MS-DOS and RMX). Also supported was a hard drive with a capacity between 40 and 80 MB, 5.25" floppy drive and a microstreamer tape drive. Triglav/J11 with μDelta/M was configured as a single or multi-processor system (up to four CPUs) with different multiprocessing options. It was designed by engineers Dušan Zalar (CPU and multiprocessing HW and SW architecture) and Vladimir Pečar (μDelta/M and multiprocessing SW architecture). Iskra Delta
Iskra Delta was a computer manufacturer from Slovenia, and one of the biggest computer producers in SFR Yugoslavia that saw its own end with the breakup of the country. It started in 1974 as Elektrotehna, the Ljubljana representative of Digital Equipment Corporation, a USA minicomputer manufacturer with an office in Belgrade. It began assembling PDP-11 minicomputers in Ljubljana from DEC processors and Ampex disks in 1978. Rapid expansion over all major Yugoslav Republics. It had a joint venture with Energoinvest, Sarajevo. Video terminals' assembly was in Paka, Slovenj Gradec. Forced merger with Iskra and Gorenje computer divisions resulted in Iskra-Delta's enlargement to 2,000 employees. Delays with microcomputer technology and freer import brought its collapse in 1988. RSX-11 is a discontinued family of multi-user real-time operating systems for PDP-11 computers created by Digital Equipment Corporation. The J-11 is a microprocessor chip set that implements the PDP-11 instruction set architecture (ISA) jointly developed by Digital Equipment Corporation and Intersil. It was a high-end chip set designed to integrate the performance and features of the PDP-11/70 onto a handful of chips. It was used in the PDP-11/73, PDP-11/83 and Professional 380. It consisted of a data path chip and a control chip in ceramic leadless packages mounted on a single ceramic hybrid dual inline package (DIP). Intel 80286
The Intel 80286 (also marketed as the iAPX 286 and often called Intel 286) is a 16-bit microprocessor that was introduced on February 1, 1982. It was the first 8086-based CPU with separate, non- multiplexed address and data buses and also the first with memory management and wide protection abilities. It had a data size of 16 bits, and had an address width of 24 bits, which could address up to 16M of memory with a suitable operating system such as Windows compared to 1M for the 8086. The 80286 used approximately 134,000 transistors in its original nMOS ( HMOS) incarnation and, just like the contemporary 80186, it can correctly execute most software written for the earlier Intel 8086 and 8088 processors.
