Tri-County Regional School Board
The Tri-County Regional Centre for Education (TCRCE) is the public school board responsible for elementary, junior high, and high schools in Digby County, Yarmouth County, and Shelburne County in Nova Scotia, Canada. History The Southwest Regional School Board previously covered all schools in Digby County, Yarmouth County, Shelburne County, Queens County, and Lunenburg County. In the spring of 2000, a pilot project created two smaller district boards in the Southwest District School Board, the Tri-County District School Board and the South Shore Regional School Board which focused solely on classroom and education issues. An administrative structure was formed to provide financial, busing, building and other non- classroom services to both districts. Lockeport is a town and port in Shelburne County, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is a traditional Nova Scotian fishing town, situated on a peninsula in Allendale Bay. Shelburne is a town located in southwestern Nova Scotia, Canada. History Shelburne lies at the southwest corner of Nova Scotia, at roughly the same latitude as Portland, Maine, in the United States. The Mi'kmaq people, Mi'kmaq call the large and well-sheltered harbour ''Logumkeegan'' or ''Sogumkeagum.'' The first settlers arrived in the Shelburne region around 13,000 years ago. Shag Harbour is a small fishing community on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. It is one of several small villages in the Municipality of the District of Barrington, Shelburne County. It has a population of roughly 400-450. Industry in the town centres on lobster fishing, which takes place from November to May. Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School
Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School (YCMHS) is a secondary school located in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is part of the Tri-County Regional School Board and is the only high school in the town of Yarmouth. The high school serves the town of Yarmouth as well as the rest of Yarmouth County. History At a public meeting held in the evening of July 26, 1898, the building was purchased for $8000 by the School Commission to be used as the Yarmouth County Academy. It is a memorial school dedicated to the war dead of Yarmouth Town and County during the First and Second World Wars. On February 20, 1949, the academy was totally destroyed by fire.
