Eve Muirhead (born 22 April 1990) is a Scottish former curler from Perth and the skip of the British Olympic Curling team. Muirhead and the GB team became Olympic champions at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, having previously won the bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. As skip of the Scotland team, Muirhead won the 2011 European Championships in Moscow, the 2013 World Championships in Riga, the 2017 European Championships in St. Gallen and the 2021 European Championships in Lillehammer. She is also a four-time World Junior Champion (2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011). Jennifer Carmichael "Jenn" Dodds (born 1 October 1991) is a Scottish curler. She currently plays mixed doubles with Bruce Mouat, representing Scotland and Great Britain. She is the 2022 Olympic champion in women's curling and the 2022 World champion in mixed doubles curling. Career Dodds played second for the Hannah Fleming junior rink that won a silver medal at the 2013 World Junior Curling Championships. While attending Edinburgh College, Dodds played on Fleming's team at the 2013 Winter Universiade, placing fourth. Dodds left the Fleming rink in 2014, playing third for Lauren Gray for two seasons. The team won the 2015 Dumfries Challenger Series event on the World Curling Tour. In 2016, she returned to the Fleming rink as her third. The team won the 2018 Scottish Women's Curling Championship and defeated the Eve Muirhead Olympic team for the right to represent Scotland at the 2018 World Women's Curling Championship. Scottish Mixed Curling Championship
The Scottish Mixed Curling Championship is the national mixed curling championship for Scotland. Team are composed of two men and two women, playing in alternating positions up the team, meaning the lead and third must be of the same gender, and likewise the second and fourth players. The championship has been held annually since 1976. From 2005 to 2014 the winners progressed to represent Scotland at the European Mixed Curling Championship. Since 2015 the winners have represented Scotland at the World Mixed Curling Championship. The current champions are Luke Carson, Kirsten Bousie, Mark Taylor and Katie McMillan, who went on to win their round robin group in the 2019 World Mixed Championship before losing to Germany in the quarterfinals. Curling
Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Two teams, each with four players, take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones, also called ''rocks'', across the ice ''curling sheet'' toward the ''house'', a circular target marked on the ice. Each team has eight stones, with each player throwing two. The purpose is to accumulate the highest score for a ''game''; points are scored for the stones resting closest to the centre of the house at the conclusion of each ''end'', which is completed when both teams have thrown all of their stones once.
