Trevon Tate
Trevon Tate (born March 13, 1996) is a professional gridiron football offensive tackle for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). College career After using a redshirt season in 2014, Tate played college football for the Memphis Tigers from 2015 to 2018. Professional career Cleveland Browns Tate signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2019. However, he was waived on May 28, 2019. Hamilton Tiger-Cats On June 21, 2019, Tate signed a practice roster agreement with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He made his professional debut in the final game of the regular season on November 2, 2019, against the Toronto Argonauts. He did not play in 2020 due to the cancellation of the 2020 CFL season. Tate started at left tackle in the first game of the 2021 season before being transferred to the injured list. He was then released on August 21, 2021. Tackle is a playing position in gridiron football. Historically, in the one-platoon system prevalent in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a tackle played on both offense and defense. In the modern system of specialized units, offensive tackle and defensive tackle are separate positions, and the stand-alone term "tackle" refers to the offensive tackle position only. The offensive tackle (OT, T) is a position on the offensive line, left and right. Like other offensive linemen, their job is to block: to physically keep defenders away from the offensive player who has the football and enable him to advance the football and eventually score a touchdown. 2021 Toronto Argonauts Season
The 2021 Toronto Argonauts season was the 63rd season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 148th year of existence. The Argonauts improved on their 4-14 record from their previous season in 2019 with a win in week 10 against the Ottawa Redblacks on October 6, 2021. The team qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2017, on October 30, 2021, with a win over the BC Lions. The Argonauts then clinched first place in the East Division after defeating the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on November 12, 2021. However, the Argonauts lost to the same Tiger-Cats in the East Final after holding a 12–0 halftime lead, but were unable to score a touchdown and lost 27–19. Edmonton Elks
The Edmonton Elks are a professional Canadian football team based in Edmonton, Alberta. The club competes in the Canadian Football League (CFL) as a member of the league's West Division and plays their home games at the Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium. The Elks were founded in 1949 as the Edmonton Eskimos and have won the Grey Cup championship fourteen times (including a three-peat between 1954 and 1956 and an unmatched five consecutive wins between 1978 and 1982), most recently in 2015.
