Tresor (singer)
Mukengerwa Tresor Riziki (born 24 April 1987), best known by his stage name Tresor (stylised as TRESOR), is a Congolese-born singer, songwriter, music producer, entrepreneur and philanthropist. He gained prominence in 2015 after releasing his single "Mount Everest" from his debut album, '' VII''. His name "Tresor", when translated from French, means "treasure". Early life and career TRESOR was born on the 24th of April 1987 in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He is one of eight siblings. Orphaned at the age of seventeen, he left his home in 2007 after completing high school. He listened to music from musicians such as Hugh Masekela, Papa Wemba and Miriam Makeba. His love for music grew and when he was frequently taken to child care centers he began playing instruments. ''VII'' is the debut studio album by Congolese-born singer TRESOR. It was released on 18 September 2015 through Sony Music. The album features South African artists Beatenberg, Khuli Chana, AKA and the Soil. The 17-track album won Best Pop Album at the 2016 South African Music Awards and was nominated for Album of the Year and Best Newcomer, which made it one of the most nominated albums. Background The album had taken him seven years to compose and detailed his seven years of being in South Africa and working on the album since. Khulane Morule (born August 27, 1982), better known by his stage name Khuli Chana, is a South African Motswako rapper. In 2014, he released his single titled Hape Le Hape 2.1 featuring Da L.E.S and Magesh. In September of the year, he released the video of the single titled Never Grow Up. Early life and career Morule was born in the Mmabatho, North West Province and started rapping motswako at a young age. He was a member of a rap group called Morafe. Zenzile Miriam Makeba ( , ; 4 March 1932 – 9 November 2008), nicknamed Mama Africa, was a South African singer, songwriter, actress, and civil rights activist.
