The song Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, represented Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. Context The song talks about an energetic and happy train ride between the capitals of Moldova and Romania, Chișinău and Bucharest, respectively. According to the band, the music video that was released for the song was coincided with the reopening of a train route between the two cities. The song was interpreted by many as being in support of a Unification of Moldova and Romania, merger between Romania and Moldova, and lyrics referring to a union were cut from the original version. The Advahov Brothers (, ) are a Moldovan folk music duo, consisting of the brothers Vasile and Vitalie Advahov. The duo was founded in 2005 and is based in Chișinău. Along with Zdob și Zdub, they represented Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy, with the song "Trenulețul". Early life Vitalie and Vasile Advahov were born in Cahul, Moldova, on 18 January 1978 and 26 April 1979 respectively. Their parents, Vasile and Agafia Advahov, originated from Gotești and Cîrpești and were teachers at Cahul's pedagogical school. During their high school years at Ciprian Porumbescu High School, they were part of an orchestral group called ''Mugurașii''. Career The Advahov Brothers Orchestra was founded in 2005. Geta Burlacu (; born Georgeta Povorozniuc on 22 July 1974) is a Moldovan singer. She represented Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "A Century of Love", written by Vica Demici and Oleg Baraliuc. Career Burlacu began singing at the age of 7. She studied violin at the music school in Bălți and graduated from the College of Music in Balti as a violinist. In 1993 she went to the Academy of Music in Chișinău to study jazz and folk music. After graduation in 1997, Burlacu stepped on the professional scene. She has performed in Germany, France, Ireland, Romania, Ukraine, Belarus, and China. She has won numerous awards at national and international festivals in jazz, pop, and folk. From 1998 until 2011, Burlacu worked as a singer in the vocal jazz band Univox.
