Trengsel Bridge
The Trengsel Bridge ( no, Trengsel bru) is a bridge that crosses the Trengselet strait in the municipality of Sørfold in Nordland county, Norway. The bridge is on the European route E6 highway between the towns of Fauske and Narvik. From the bridge, the beginning of an old railway tunnel for the Polar Line railway can be seen just to the north of the eastern end of the bridge. The tunnel was never completed. Sørfold is a municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the traditional district of Salten. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Straumen. Other villages in the municipality include Leirfjordgården, Mørsvikbotn, Røsvika, Rørstad, Styrkesvik, and Øvre Kvarv. The municipality surrounds the Sørfolda fjord and stretches east to the border with Sweden. The municipality is the 48th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. European Route E6
European route E6 ( no, Europavei 6, sv, Europaväg 6, or simply E6) is the main north-south thoroughfare through Norway as well as the west coast of Sweden. It is long and runs from the southern tip of Sweden at Trelleborg, into Norway and through almost all of the country north to the Arctic Circle and Nordkapp. The route ends in Kirkenes close to the Russian border. Route From south to north, E6 runs through Trelleborg, Malmö, Helsingborg, Halmstad, Gothenburg, Svinesund in Sweden, before crossing the border at the Svinesund Bridge into Norway. It then passes Halden, Sarpsborg, Moss to the capital Oslo. North of this, it passes by Gardermoen, Hamar, Lillehammer, Dombås, Oppdal, Melhus to Trondheim. Fauske (town)
is a town in Fauske Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is also the administrative centre of Fauske Municipality. The town is located on the shore of the Skjerstad Fjord, about east of the town of Bodø and about west of the border with Sweden. The lake Nervatnet lies on the southeast side of the town. The town has a population (2018) of 6,304 and a population density of . The town was established as a "town" in 1998 when the municipal council of Fauske Municipality designated it as such. It is the site of the local municipal government. Fauske Church and the Fauske Upper Secondary School are both located in the town as well. Narvik is a town and the administrative centre of Narvik Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The town is located along the Ofotfjorden in the Ofoten region. The town lies on a peninsula located between the Rombaken fjord and the Beisfjorden. The European route E06 highway runs through the Beisfjord Bridge and Hålogaland Bridge crossing the two small fjords surrounding the town. Polar Line
The Polar Line ( no, Polarbanen, german: Polarbahn) is an incomplete and abandoned railway line in Norway, from Fauske to Narvik and, if finished, ultimately would have run to Kirkenes. The railway was constructed by the ''Wehrmacht'' in occupied Norway during the Second World War as part of ''Festung Norwegen''. At Fauske, the line connected with the Nordland Line, and construction stretched as far north as Drag, Tysfjord. After the war, the plans were abandoned by Norwegian authorities, although from the 1970s, they were revitalized as part of the proposed Northern Norway Line. Some tunnels and bridges remain and part of the route has been used to build European Road E6. Route Organizationally, the construction of the Polar Line started at Finneid.
