Trees Of Peace
''Trees of Peace'' is a 2022 film which was written and directed by Alanna Brown in her directorial debut. It stars Eliane Umuhire, Charmaine Bingwa, Bola Koleosho and Ella Cannon as four women (two Tutsi, one a Hutu moderate, and one American volunteer) who hide in a hole underneath a house for 81 days to survive the 1994 Rwandan genocide. It has a 98-minute runtime and it is an English language film. The film was initially funded through a 2017 Kickstarter campaign. The film was produced by companies RR Productions, Abstract Entertainment and A Brown Girl Films. Producers included Ron Ray, Barry Levine, Mike Bundlie, Brian Baniqued and Jeffrey Spiegel. Eliane Umuhire
Eliane Umuhire (born 1986) is a French-Rwandan actress. She is known for her breakthrough role in the Polish film '' Birds Are Singing in Kigali'' (2017), for which she won several Best Actress awards at various festivals. Other notable performances include in the 2021 Afrofuturist film ''Neptune Frost'' and the 2024 film '' A Quiet Place: Day One'', as Zena. Early life and education Eliane Umuhire was born in Kigali, Rwanda in 1986. Her parents, who ran a pharmacy business loved the arts and culture, and her mother was an avid reader. In secondary school, her French teacher gave her a piece to memorise and perform, and her love of acting was sparked by that experience. Nicole A. Avant (born March 6, 1968) is an American producer and political activist. She served as the United States Ambassador to the Bahamas from 2009 to 2011. The Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) is an eleven-day film festival held in Santa Barbara, California in February annually, since 1986. The festival screens over 200 feature films and shorts from different countries and regions. SBIFF also includes celebrity tributes, industry panels and education programs.
