Trebišov District
Trebišov District (, ; ) is a Districts of Slovakia, district in the Košice Region of eastern Slovakia. Until 1918, the district was mostly part of the Administrative divisions of the Kingdom of Hungary, Hungarian county of Zemplén County, Zemplén, apart from a small area in the south-east around Veľké Trakany which formed part of the county of Szabolcs (county), Szabolcs. Districts Of Slovakia
The districts of Slovakia are administrative units known as in the Slovak language. It is a second-tier territorial administrative unit, below a Region () in standing, and superior to a municipality (). Each district contains at least several municipalities. The cities of Bratislava and Košice are the only cities in Slovakia divided into internal urban districts, with five in Bratislava, and four in Košice. These urban districts are then further divided into smaller boroughs (which serve a function analogous to municipalities in typical districts). All other districts are larger in size and also include rural areas, and rural as well as urban municipalities. Each of these more typical districts has an urban centre serving as the seat of the district, usually the largest town (or the only town) of a given district. Dargov
Dargov (; 1948-1964 ''Drahov''; ) is a village and municipality in the Trebišov District in the Košice Region of eastern Slovakia. History The village was first mentioned as ''Dorgo'' in a charter in 1458. It belonged to several owners: the nobles Semsey and Széchy, the castle of Sečovce (Csapy family), and a part of the town of Trebišov. In the 19th century it belonged to the noble landowners Andrássy, Berzeviczy and Forgách. In 1944, it was burned down by the German Army. Čierna Nad Tisou
Čierna nad Tisou () is a town and municipality in the Trebišov District in the Košice Region of extreme south-eastern Slovakia, near the Tisa (Tisza) river. History The town and municipality is one of the newest in the Košice Region established in 1828. In 1968, from 29 July to 1 August, Soviet and Czechoslovak leaders Leonid Brezhnev and Alexander Dubček met in Čierna nad Tisou. This meeting was followed by the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia on 20 August 1968. Geography The town lies at an altitude of and covers an area of . It has a population of about 3,500 people. Čierna
Čierna (; ) is a village and municipality in the Trebišov District in the Košice Region of south-eastern Slovakia. Name The village's name comes from the Hungarian personal name ''Csernő'', or archaically, ''Cserna''. The ''Ág-'' prefix is in memory of Agh, a local landowner mentioned in a 1270 record, where the village is called ''Chernafewld''. The Slovak version of the name was created in 1948.
