The treasurer of New South Wales, known from 1856 to 1959 as the colonial treasurer of New South Wales, is the Minister of the Crown, minister in the Government of New South Wales responsible for government expenditure and revenue raising and is the head of the The Treasury (New South Wales), New South Wales Treasury. The treasurer plays a key role in the economic policy of the government. The current treasurer, since 28 March 2023 is Daniel Mookhey. Each year, the treasurer presents the NSW Budget to the Parliament. In some other countries the equivalent role is the minister for finance, although NSW has had a separate office of that name responsible for regulating government spending. John Della Bosca
John Joseph Della Bosca (born 18 July 1956) is an Australian former politician, representing the Labor Party in the New South Wales Legislative Council. From 1999 to 2009, Della Bosca served a range of ministerial portfolios, including Minister for Health and Minister for the Central Coast in the NSW State Government. Early life and career Della Bosca attended school at De La Salle College, Cronulla. Influenced by a visit to his school by Bob Carr, Della Bosca joined the ALP in January 1973. He rose through his branch and electorate council to take a place on the party's National Executive. Between 1976 and his election to parliament in 1999, Della Bosca worked for the labour movement full-time in various capacities, first as a researcher for Senator Kerry Sibraa. Henry Hoyle
Henry Clement Hoyle (20 November 1852 – 20 July 1926) was an Australian politician and rugby league football administrator of the 1890s and 1900s. A life member of the New South Wales Rugby League, Hoyle is credited with helping to craft the rhetoric justifying its successful 1908 split from the New South Wales Rugby Football Union. Early life The son of a sea captain, Hoyle was born in Millers Point, New South Wales on 20 November 1852. He was educated at a Balmain convent school and Fort Street Public School. At age 10 he began his working life in Balmain with Booth's sawmills. He was apprenticed as a Blacksmith with P N Russell & Co,. then worked at Mort's Dock in 1868. Hoyle gained employment for the New South Wales Government Railways in 1876. Matthew John Kean (born 16 September 1981) is a former Australian politician who is the Chair of the Climate Change Authority. Prior to this, he was the Treasurer of New South Wales in the second Perrottet ministry of New South Wales between October 2021 and March 2023. The New South Wales Government (NSW Government) is made up of a number of departments, state-owned corporations and other agencies. The NSW Public Service is organised under the ''Government Sector Employment Act 2013'', with public bodies organised under various legislation.
