Travis Credit Union Park
Travis Credit Union Park, also known as Nut Tree Stadium, was a stadium in Vacaville, California. It was primarily used for baseball and was the home field of the Solano Steelheads of the Western Baseball League and later the Solano Thunderbirds. The ballpark had a capacity of 2,800 people. In 2008, a deal was reached to tear down the ballpark and move it to Redding, California. Vacaville is a city located in Solano County, California, United States. It is located from Sacramento, California, Sacramento and from San Francisco, it is on the edge of the Sacramento Valley in Northern California. The city was founded in 1851 and is named after Juan Manuel Vaca. Solano Steelheads
The Solano Steelheads were a minor league baseball team in Vacaville, California. They played in the independent Western Baseball League and were not affiliated with any Major League Baseball team, although four of the players in the 2002 season were mayoral candidates in the Golden One Bank Capital Election. The Steelheads were founded in 1999 as the Sacramento, California, Sacramento Steelheads by a businessman, Bruce Portner. They played their inaugural season at Sacramento City College. Portner sought to attract attention to the new franchise by hiring the notorious MLB star Pete Rose as "the hitting instructor" of the team. The Western Baseball League was an independent baseball league based in the Western United States and Western Canada. Its member teams were not associated with any Major League Baseball teams. Tiger Field (baseball Stadium)
Tiger Field is a former Minor League Baseball venue in the Western United States, located in Redding, California. Opened in 1923, it is the home of the summer collegiate Redding Colt 45s. The ballpark is named for its first tenant, the semi-pro Redding Tigers. Tiger Field is on the corner of Market Street and Cypress Ave. The stadium has gone through many renovations over the years. In the 1940s and 1950s, the stadium had a large wooden grandstand.
