Tranent Football Club is a football in Scotland, Scottish football club based in the town of Tranent, East Lothian. They currently play in the . History The club was originally named Tranent Juniors, however following an announcement of a merger with Tranent Colts (founded in 1998) in February 2023, the club was renamed Tranent F.C. from the 2023–24 season. Their home ground is Foresters Park and club colours are maroon and white. The team was promoted from the East of Scotland Football League Premier Division to the Lowland Football League, Lowland League in 2022, having moved from the Scottish Junior Football Association, junior leagues in 2018. The club's greatest honour was winning the Scottish Junior Cup in 1934–35, defeating Petershill F.C., Petershill 6–1 at Ibrox Stadium, Ibrox Park in front of a crowd of 22,000. Tranent is a town in East Lothian (formerly Haddingtonshire), in the south-east of Scotland. Tranent lies 6 miles from the boundary of Edinburgh, and 9.1 miles from the city centre. It lies south of the A1 road (Great Britain), A1 road that runs through the parish splitting it from its associated villages and hamlets Meadowmill and the ports of Cockenzie and Port Seton. Bonnyrigg Rose Football Club is a Scottish football club from the town of Bonnyrigg. Formed in 1881 and nicknamed ''the Rose'', the team plays in the , having been relegated in 2024–25. Their home ground is New Dundas Park, and they have traditionally played in red and white hoops. They have won the Scottish Junior Cup twice, in 1966 and in 1978, as well as finishing runners-up in 1972. The 2024–25 Scottish Junior Cup (known as the Call Robert Accident Repair Scottish Junior Cup for sponsorship reasons), was the 138th season of the Scottish Junior Cup, the national knockout tournament for member clubs of the Scottish Junior Football Association (SJFA). A total of 127 clubs entered the competition, fifteen more than in 2023–24. Danny Handling
Daniel Handling (born 6 February 1994) is a Scottish footballer who plays for Tranent Juniors. Handling has previously played for Hibernian and Dumbarton as well as Berwick Rangers and Raith Rovers on loan. Early life Handling grew up in Haddington, East Lothian, and attended Knox Academy . His brother, Darren, plays as an attacking midfield player for Dunbar United. Career He made his first-team debut for Hibs as a substitute against Aberdeen on 14 May 2011, becoming the fourth-youngest person to play for Hibs. Handling agreed a new contract with Hibs later that year. Handling was loaned to Third Division club Berwick Rangers in March 2012. He scored two goals on his Berwick debut, a 2–1 win at Peterhead on 24 March.
