Tranceport
Tranceport is a trance music DJ mix album series. The series debuted in November 1998 with Paul Oakenfold's '' Tranceport'', released on Kinetic Records. The album featured many trance songs that were receiving a lot of dance club play at the time, including Three Drives on a Vinyl's ''Greece 2000'' and the Paul van Dyk remix of Binary Finary's popular ''1998''. Tranceport is widely regarded among electronic music listeners as one of the best trance albums ever released. The later releases in the series were based on this template. DJs featured in this series included Dave Ralph and Quivver ('' Tranceport 2'' and '' Transport 5'', respectively). After Vol. 3, the series changed its name to ''Transport'' to better reflect the evolving popular club sounds and the incorporation of genres other than trance. Max Graham (; born April 17, 1971) is a British-Canadian DJ, composer, and producer of dance music. Known for fusing progressive house, trance, and techno, he is most famous for his open-to-close DJ Sets (where he typically plays 6 to 8 hours), his ''Cycles'' CD series/radio show, and his remix of the classic song "Owner of a Lonely Heart" (by Yes) in 2005. He is also the founder of record labels Re*Brand and Cycles. Biography Graham was born in London, England, and lived in Spain, New York City and Los Angeles before settling in Ottawa, Canada, in 1989. Paul Mark Oakenfold (born 30 August 1963), formerly known mononymously as Oakenfold, is an English record producer, remixer and trance DJ. He has provided over 100 remixes for over 100 artists including U2, Moby, Madonna, Britney Spears, Massive Attack, the Cure, New Order, the Rolling Stones, the Stone Roses and Michael Jackson. Sandra Collins
Sandra Collins is an American DJ, record producer, and remixer. Biography Collins got her start on the West Coast of the U.S. in Phoenix, Arizona and then moved into residencies in Los Angeles, and eventually moved towards trance. She used American producers to give herself a unique sound. Collins performed for an estimated 80,000 people on the first night of Woodstock '99, and was the first female DJ featured in the influential '' Tranceport'' recording series. She has released two CD mixes under Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto label. Collins was the focus of a 2013 documentary, ''Girl'', highlighting female DJs in EDM subculture. Quivver
John Graham is a British record producer, songwriter, vocalist who is also known under the pseudonyms Quivver, Skanna, Stoneproof and Space Manoeuvres. He was a former member of music production team Tilt and has recorded and toured with the Welsh electronic group, Hybrid in the past. History John Graham began music production in the early 1990s. Originally, he produced and released several tunes under the name Globe before releasing several darkside jungle singles under the name Skanna. With Neil Barry, under the alias of "Quivver", he released "Saxy Lady" and "Twist & Shout" on A&M Records Lt. UK. Again under the Quivver name he released "Believe in Me" on Perfecto Records. Kinetic Records was a New York City-based record label founded by Steve Lau (founding member of Sire Records act the Ocean Blue), and co-owned with Alyson Shapero. The label launched the careers of artists and DJs such as Paul Oakenfold, BT, Ray Munns, Deepsky, Kosheen, Tilt, Timo Maas, Grace, Sandra Collins, Billy Thermal, Binary Finary, and Shpongle. Dave Ralph
Dave Ralph is an English electronic musician, best known as a house and trance DJ. Biography Ralph was born in Liverpool and first deejayed in the 1970s. Through the 1980s he performed at clubs such as Cream and Shelley's, and began working with Paul Oakenfold, releasing recordings on his Perfecto label. Dave Ralphat Allmusic Ralph opened for Oakenfold on his 1996 world tour, and released his first major-market mix in 1999 on Kinetic Records. He worked frequently in U.S. clubs after moving to The United States in 2000, most noticeably Webster Hall in New York City, as well as Avalon and Royale in Boston. Currently, Dave resides in California, where he currently heads up the curation of Insomniac’s international EDC festivals.
