Kevin Hegge
Kevin Hegge is a Canadian documentary filmmaker based in Toronto, Ontario, who specializes in films about social and musical subcultures. He is most noted for his film '' She Said Boom: The Story of Fifth Column'', which was the winner of the award for Best Canadian Film at the 2012 Inside Out Film and Video Festival. Verity Susman
Verity Susman is an English songwriter, composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist. She is best known as a founding member and the frontwoman of the English indie rock band Electrelane. Music career Following classical piano, clarinet and saxophone lessons as a child and teenager, Susman formed the band Electrelane with drummer Emma Gaze soon after leaving school. The band released four albums, an EP, multiple singles and a Singles, B-Sides & Live compilation album between 2000 and 2007. Verity was lead singer and played keyboards, guitar and saxophone in the band. As they evolved from the post-rock sound of their mostly instrumental first album Rock It to the Moon, Verity Susman grew bolder in her role as the arranger and main songwriting force in the band. Matthew Simms
Matthew Simms is an English guitarist best known for his work with the band Wire. Simms formed the band It Hugs Back with schoolmates Paul Michael, Jack Theedom and Will Blackaby. Their debut album, ''Inside Your Guitar'', was released in 2009. Their second album, ''Laughing Party'', was released in 2012. In 2010 Simms joined Wire for their '' Red Barked Tree'' tour initially as a touring guitarist but then as a full member of the band. The first Wire album Simms appeared on was 2013's '' Change Becomes Us''. He went on to appear on: ''Wire'', '' Nocturnal Koreans'', '' Silver/Lead,'' and ''Mind Hive'' (2020). New Romantic
New Romantic was an underground subculture movement that originated in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s. The movement emerged from the nightclub scene in London and Birmingham at venues such as Billy's and The Blitz. The New Romantic movement was characterised by flamboyant, eccentric fashion inspired by fashion boutiques such as Kahn and Bell in Birmingham and PX in London. Early adherents of the movement were often referred to by the press by such names as Blitz Kids, New Dandies and Romantic Rebels. Influenced by David Bowie, Marc Bolan and Roxy Music, the New Romantics developed fashions inspired by the glam rock era coupled with the early Romantic period of the late 18th and early 19th century (from which the movement took its name). Brian Robertson is a Canadian film and television producer and director based in Toronto, Ontario.
