Trade Unions In Turkey
There are four national trade union centers in Turkey. Confederation Of Turkish Trade Unions
The Confederation of Turkish Trade Unions (), known as TÜRK-İŞ, is one of the four major national trade union centers in Turkey. It was created in 1952 and is the oldest of the four centers, having been the only trade union organization to survive the 1980 military coup. Today, TÜRK-İŞ is mainly known for their research and analyses of the Turkish economy. January 2020 research about cost of living for families in Turkey conducted by TÜRK-İŞ shows that monthly food expenditure (hunger limit) of a family of four required to afford a healthy, balanced and adequate diet is 2,219.45 TL. In addition to food expenditure, the total amount of other monthly expenditures required for clothing, housing (rent, electricity, water, fuel), transportation, education, health and similar needs (poverty line) for the same date would be 7,229.49 TL. Confederation Of Revolutionary Trade Unions Of Turkey
The Confederation of Revolutionary Trade Unions of Turkey ( Turkish: ''Türkiye Devrimci İşçi Sendikaları Konfederasyonu'', DİSK) is one of the four major national trade union centres in Turkey. It was founded in 1967 as a breakaway union from the Confederation of Turkish Trade Unions, and has a membership of 327,000. DİSK is affiliated with the International Trade Union Confederation, World Federation of Trade Unions, Trade Union Advisory Committee to the OECD and the European Trade Union Confederation. The Confederation of Turkish Real Trade Unions (HAK-İŞ) is one of the four major national trade union centers in Turkey. It was founded October 22, 1976, and has a membership of 680,000. It was established as a confederation of trade unions close to Islamist National Salvation Party. Tatil-i Eşgaal Kanunu The first of the important events in the Ottoman Empire in 1908 was the proclamation of the second constitutional era through Young Turk Revolution, and the second was the widespread strikes in the months following the proclamation. The strikes in Constantinople and Thrace began in August, and in September and October of 1908 reached large dimensions and spread to Smyrna and Adrianople. The strikes started and spread as a result of not meeting the demands for improvement of working conditions.
