Tracy Sachtjen
Tracy Sachtjen (, Zeman, born February 20, 1969) is an American curling, curler from Lodi, Wisconsin. She is a former world champion and Olympian. Curling career Sachtjen started curling in 1982. By 1987 she had made her first appearance at the U.S. Junior National Championships. Her first appearance at the United States National Championships came in 1993 and in 1997 she won her first gold medal at the event, with her team skipped by Patti Lank. At her first world championships in 1997 in Berne, Switzerland, her team placed sixth. She has competed at eight U.S. National Championships, five World Championships, and two World Junior Championships. She has one gold and one silver medal from World Championship competition. In February 2009, Sachtjen and her team, skipped by Debbie McCormick won the 2010 United States Olympic Curling Trials, 2010 US Olympic Trials, earning the right to compete for the United States at the 2010 Winter Olympics, 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. Sauk Prairie, Wisconsin
Sauk Prairie is the nickname for the adjacent villages of Sauk City and Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin. The twin communities are located on the west bank of the Wisconsin River in southeastern Sauk County, where U.S. Highway 12 crosses the Wisconsin River. As of the 2020 census, the combined population of the two communities was 7,938. Curling At The 2010 Winter Olympics
The curling competition of the 2010 Olympics was held at Vancouver Olympic/Paralympic Centre in Vancouver. It is the fifth time that curling was on the Olympic program, after having been staged in 1924, 1998, 2002 and 2006. For the 2010 Winter Olympics the competition followed the same format that was used during the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics, with 10 teams playing a round robin tournament, from which the top four teams advance to the semi-finals. The women's competition concluded on Friday, February 26, 2010. In the bronze medal match, the Chinese team made history by becoming the first team from Asia to win an Olympic curling medal. The gold medal match was one of the closest medal games in Olympic competition. Natalie Nicholson
Natalie Nicholson (born March 10, 1976, in Bemidji, Minnesota, as Natalie Simenson) is an American curler. She is currently the coach of the Tabitha Peterson rink. Career She started curling in 1993 at the Bemidji Curling Club. As a junior curler, Nicholson played second for Risa O'Connell and represented Team USA at the 1995 and 1997 World Junior Curling Championships finishing sixth and fourth respectively. In 2000, Nicholson curled in her first World Curling Championships playing lead for Amy Wright and finished in sixth place. Nicholson returned to the Worlds in 2002 as Patti Lank's lead and finished in eighth place. They returned in 2004 finishing in fourth place. Nicole Joraanstad ( ; born November 10, 1980, in Seattle, Washington) is an American curler from Verona, Wisconsin. She currently plays second for Erika Brown. Career At the 2000 World Junior Curling Championships, Joraanstad played third for Laura Delaney and won a bronze medal for Team USA. The following year, Joraanstad skipped her own team to a seventh-place finish. Joraanstad would later join up with Patti Lank as her second, and Team USA finished in fourth place at the 2004 Ford World Curling Championships. Ann Swisshelm (born March 9, 1968) is a curler from Chicago. Swisshelm represented the United States in the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics and the 2014 Sochi Olympics. She has also been known as Ann Swisshelm Silver. Career Swisshelm began curling at age ten at the Exmoor Country Club in Highland Park, a suburb of Chicago. She made her United States National Championship debut in 1995, where her team placed fifth. Since then she has competed in the National Championships 18 more times. Beverly Behnke is an American curler from Denver, Colorado. She was a three-time national champion in the early 1990s. Curling career In 1990 Behnke was named the United States Curling Association's Female Athlete of the Year. Behnke skipped her team to gold at three National Women's Championships in only a five year span, in 1990, 1993, and 1994. In 1992 they earned silver at Nationals, losing to Lisa Schoeneberg in the final. As national champions they earned the right to represent the United States at the subsequent World Championships.
