Tracie Thomas
Tracie Thomas was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin in 1965. As a child, she moved to Boulder, Colorado. While in Boulder, she started the punk rock band, Anti-Scrunti Faction (A.S.F.) with Leslie Mah. Tracie Thomas appeared in the film ''The Yo-Yo Gang'' by G.B. Jones. Tracie Thomas and Leslie Mah starred in the movie and performed their single, "Frat Boy". After A.S.F. broke up in 1985, Tracie moved to New York City and joined the band Special Head. While living in NYC, she worked at an English Motorcycle Shop called Sixth Street Specials and for the famous motorcyclist Indian Larry. Tracie Thomas currently resides in Florida and re-launched a clothing line called Trauma Tease Apparel in 2014. Anti-Scrunti Faction were an American queercore punk trio from Boulder, Colorado, United States. The band made their first appearance in 1984 on the Restless Records compilation LP entitled '' FlipSide Vinyl Fanzine Volume 1'', assembled by the fanzine '' Flipside'', with the song "Big Women". In 1985, Anti-Scrunti Faction released ''A Sure Fuck'', a single on Unclean Records. Appearing on the extended single are Leslie Mah, bass and vocals, Tracie Thomas, guitar and vocals, Sarah Bibb on drums for two songs and Eric Van Leuven on drums for the remaining four. Later that same year the album ''Damsels In Distress'' came out on Flipside Records. The artists' names are intentionally obscured on the album: the guitarist is listed as T. Leslie Mah is an American musician and performer. Biography Mah first began performing with Anti-Scrunti Faction, a hardcore punk band based in Boulder, Colorado which she co-founded with Tracie Thomas. The group first appeared on the Flipside fanzine compilation, ''Flipside Vinyl Fanzine Vol.1'' in 1984 and, in 1985, released one single and an album, ''Damsels In Distress'', on Flipside. The two lead performers and songwriters, Mah and Thomas, were part of the formation of the early Queercore movement, appearing in the seminal zine '' J.D.s'', and starred and performed in ''The Yo-Yo Gang'' by G.B. Jones, released in 1992. In 1988, Mah moved to San Francisco and helped found another of the pioneering queercore punk bands, Tribe 8, for which she played guitar. G. B. Jones (born 1965) is a Canadian artist, filmmaker, musician, and publisher of zines born in Bowmanville, Canada. She is known for producing J.D.s with her acclaimed''Tom Girls'' drawings before going on to create more musically, cinematically, and artistically. Additionally, her diverse projects have amply contributed to the LGBTQ+ space. Indian Larry (born Lawrence DeSmedt; April 28, 1949 – August 30, 2004) was a motorcycle builder and artist, stunt rider, and biker. He first became known as Indian Larry in the 1980s when he was riding the streets of New York City on a chopped Indian motorcycle. Respected as an old school chopper builder, Larry sought greater acceptance of choppers being looked upon as an art form. He became interested in hot rods and motorcycles at an early age and was a fan of Von Dutch and Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, whom he would later meet in California. Wide acknowledgment of Indian Larry's talent only came in the last few years of his life. He died in 2004 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident while performing at a bike show.
