Veles (city)
Veles ( ) is a city in the central part of North Macedonia on the Vardar river. The city of Veles is the seat of Veles Municipality. Veles is the seventh largest Macedonian city with a total population of 40,664 (census 2021). The largest cities in the proximity of Veles are: Skopje - the capital and the largest city of North Macedonia - 54 km in the northwest direction, Štip 43 km to the east, Sveti Nikole 34 km to the northeast, Prilep 79 km in the southwest direction, and Kavadarci and Negotino 43 km and 40 km respectively to the southeast. GRK Ohrid () is a handball club from Ohrid, North Macedonia. They compete in the domestic Macedonian Handball Super League. Crest, colours, supporters Kits History Elektromontazha shortly EMO Ohrid was established in 1972 and for the last 30 years has been a leading Macedonian manufacturer and supplier of electro-mechanical components and systems, with design, manufacturing and installation capability. The company had established its own Handball Club Elektromontazha Ohrid. It was one of the top clubs in the 70s and early 80s. They had won three championships back in 1977, 1978 and 1983. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end.
