John Toye (economist)
John Francis Joseph Toye (7 October 194212 November 2021) was a British development economist and political economist who served as a director at the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex and at the Centre for the Study of African Economies at the University of Oxford. As a development economist, he studied the impact of multinational agencies like the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund on developing economies. Toye is credited with the shaping of development studies as a discipline including serving as the president of UK's Development Studies Association. Some of Toye's prominent works included ''Dilemmas of Development (1987)'' and ''Aid and Power (1991).'' Wendy Toye
Beryl May Jessie Toye, (1 May 1917 – 27 February 2010), known professionally as Wendy Toye, was a British dancer, stage and film director and actress. Life and career Toye was born in London. She initially worked as a dancer and choreographer both on stage and on film. She joined the Markova-Dolin Ballet Company as a soloist and was taken under the wing of Dame Ninette de Valois. She was soon collaborating with the likes of directors Jean Cocteau and Carol Reed. She first appeared on film as a dancer in Anthony Asquith’s film '' Dance Pretty Lady'' in 1931. In 1936 she was working on the opera film ''Pagliacci'' with the director Karl Grune, who, caught up in technical matters, asked Toye to direct the actors for him.

Robert Vernon Toye, (b 1948?) nicknamed "Blind Bob" is a US bank robber who is legally blind. Early life Toye was born in San Pedro, California and developed retinitis pigmentosa in the early age. Mail fraud In 1968 he begin a mail scam where people would send him $5 application fee to receive work stuffing envelopes. 1973 he was sentenced for mail fraud and jailed in Springfield, Missouri. Bank robberies In prison he heard that bank tellers in federally insured banks were instructed to hand out the money to robbers without incident. So, when Toye was released 1974, he proceeded to make his first bank robbery shortly after he had left the prison. He was armed only with his white cane and a note that claimed he had a gun. Toye concentrated on using his right eye to see shadowy impressions of other people's feet and followed them to the bank teller's window. Richard Toye
Richard John Toye (born 1973) is a British historian and academic. He is Professor of History at the University of Exeter. He was previously a Fellow and Director of Studies for History at Homerton College, University of Cambridge, from 2002 to 2007, and before that he taught at University of Manchester from 2000. Early life Toye was born in 1973 in Cambridge, but subsequently moved to Swansea and then to Hove, Sussex. He took a BA in history and then an MPhil at the University of Birmingham. He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree by the University of Cambridge in 1999. His doctoral thesis was titled "The Labour Party and the planned economy 1931-1951". Mason Vincent Toye (born October 16, 1998) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Major League Soccer club CF Montréal. Early life and education Born in South Orange, New Jersey, Toye attended Morristown-Beard School for his first two years of High School, before transferring to Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange, New Jersey where he graduated in 2017. John Toye (c. 1936 – 28 April 1992) was a presenter and newsreader on Scottish Television for over 20 years, and is best known as the former anchor on its flagship news programme ''Scotland Today''. Life and career Toye was born into a musical family. His father was the conductor and composer Geoffrey Toye, and his mother was Dorothy Fleitman. As a child, he spent time in America and was once rescued from a cruise ship torpedoed en route to Britain during the Second World War. Christy Toye (born 10 March 1983) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for St Michael's and also, formerly, for the Donegal county team. He captained his county in Brian McIver's first season in charge (2005). Along with his fellow club mate Colm McFadden, he would have been considered one of the mature elder statesman of the Donegal senior football panel, until his retirement from inter-county football in 2017.
