Toy Bolton
Toy Bolton (November 22, 1926 – June 8, 2001) was a NASCAR Grand National Series driver and team owner from Gastonia, North Carolina, US. Career He competed in just four races in his two-year NASCAR career. Bolton's career accomplishments were two finishes in the top-ten position, 503 laps raced, $880 in total earnings ($ when adjusted for inflation), and of racing experience. His first race was the 1964 Textile 250 while his last race was the 1966 Columbia 200. While Bolton never cracked the top ten in championship points, his best season was the 1966 season where he finished 81st in season points. Bolton's sponsor was himself; stating that he was a driver/owner during his entire career. His highest earnings for a race were $530 ($ when adjusted for inflation). Motor Trend 500
The Winston Western 500 was an annual NASCAR Winston Cup race held at Riverside International Raceway in Riverside, California, United States, in January, and then in later years, November. From 1963 to 1981, the race was held in January and was the season opening race. NASCAR elected to start its season with the Daytona 500 beginning in 1982, so a second Winston Western 500 was run in November to accommodate the change; the change resulted in Riverside hosting three Winston Cup races in 1981. The race ran in November from 1981 to 1987, serving as the Winston Cup Series' final race of the year from 1981 to 1986. The race distance was 500 miles until 1977 when it was shortened to 311 miles (500 kilometers). The other race held at Riverside, the Budweiser 400, was held in June. The Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 400 is an annual 400-lap NASCAR Cup Series stock car race held at the Martinsville Speedway in Ridgeway, Virginia. Piedmont Interstate Fairgrounds is a half mile (0.8 km) dirt oval near Spartanburg, South Carolina. The track held NASCAR Grand National races in the 1950s and 1960s. The 1964 Atlanta 500 was a NASCAR Grand National Series event that was held on April 5, 1964, at Atlanta International Raceway in Hampton, Georgia, the fifth annual race in the history of the Atlanta 500 series of races. Bowman Gray Stadium is a NASCAR sanctioned asphalt flat oval short track and longstanding football stadium located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It is one of stock car racing's most legendary venues, and is referred to as "NASCAR's longest-running weekly race track". The Food City Dirt Race is an annual 250-lap, NASCAR Cup Series points race held at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. This is one of two NASCAR races held at Bristol, the other being the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race. It was the first venue of the 2007 NASCAR schedule to host the fifth-generation NASCAR premiership race car, a race won by Kyle Busch.
