Towhidi Janata
''Towhidi Janata'' () is a term or banner used by several disorganized groups of revolutionary Islamist mob and sometimes demonstrator-political groups in Bangladesh who have been involved in protests, movements, and clashes centered around religious issues at various times. There have been instances where they have attempted to prevent the participation of entertainment industry figures and personalities, particularly female artists, in various social and cultural events. Origin and meaning The term ''Tawhidi Janata'' is formed by combining two separate words from Arabic and Bengali. The word ''Tawhid'' refers to the oneness of Allah. From ''Tawhid'', the term ''Tawhidi'' is derived, meaning someone who believes in the oneness of Allah. The word ''Janata'' comes from Bengali, meaning the general public or a group of people. BBC Bangla
BBC Bangla () is the Bengali language service of the BBC World Service, inaugurated in 1941 for Bengali audiences worldwide especially the ones in the Bengal region, which includes the sovereign state of Bangladesh and the Indian states of West Bengal and Tripura. History BBC Bangla was launched on 11 October 1941 with a 15-minute programme under the BBC World Service. BBC Bangla's headquarters used to be Bush House, but since 2012, it has been broadcast from Broadcasting House in London as well as from BBC bureaux in Dhaka and Kolkata. In September 2022, BBC Bangla announced its cessation of radio broadcasts due to financial reasons. Bhola District
Bhola District () is an administrative district of Barisal Division in south-central Bangladesh, which includes Bhola Island, the largest island of Bangladesh. It has an area of 3,403.48 km2. Borhanuddin Upazila
Borhanuddin () is an upazila (or sub-district) of Bhola District in Barisal, Bangladesh. History In the eighteenth century, Agha Baqer Khan held numerous jagirs across South Bengal including the area now known as Borhanuddin. During his time, he gifted two rent-free islands in the east and west of present-day Borhanuddin to an Arab family which had arrived in the region. The chief of the family was an Islamic preacher who became renowned among the locals by the name Syed Auliya. The Sufi heritage of Borhanuddin can be recognised through the mazars of many faqirs there such as that of Rahman Faqir in Gunaighar, Kawthar Dawlat Shah Faqir in Mashakira and Muin ad-Din Faqir in Ponra. Khairullah Hawladar was a Muslim zamindar based in Kalaiya, Patuakhali. Baitul Mukarram (), officially Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, is the national mosque of Bangladesh. It is located at the center of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
