Tove Mohr
Tove Kathrine Mohr (née Møller) (3 March 1891 – 26 August 1981) was a Norwegian physician, socialist, and proponent for women's rights. Biography Tove Kathrine Møller was born at Thorsø in Østfold, Norway. She was the eldest of three children born to Katti Anker Møller and Kai Møller. Her father was a member of the Norwegian Parliament and her mother was a pioneer women's right advocate. She was raised on the family estate, Thorsø Manor (''Thorsø herregård'') in Torsnes. She attended Ragna Nielsens pikeskole in Kristiania (now Oslo). She began studying medicine in 1910 and graduated from the medical department at the Rikshospitalet in 1917. In 1914, she was married to professor Otto Lous Mohr with whom she had three children, including Tove Pihl. In 1922, she started private practice. Katti Anker Møller
Katti Anker Møller (23 October 1868 – 20 August 1945) was a Norway, Norwegian feminist, Children's rights movement, children's rights advocate, and a pioneer of reproductive rights. Biography She was born Cathrine Anker in Hamar, the daughter of Herman Anker. She had nine siblings, and grew up around the first folk high school at Sagatun Folk High School, Sagatun in Hamar, which was founded by her father. Educated as a teacher, she spent a year in France, where her exposure to the life of prostitutes and single mothers affected her profoundly. Her mother died at the age of 50, apparently exhausted from her many pregnancies, though the number of children she had was normal for her time. She married her cousin Kai Møller from Thorsø Manor (''Thorsø herregård'') in Torsnes in 1889, with whom she had three children. Kai Møller
Kai Bisgaard Anker Møller (22 May 1859 – 22 September 1940) was a Norwegian land owner and politician. Biography Møller was born at Dyrendal near Halden in Østfold, Norway. He was the son of Edvard Johannes Møller (1819–85) and Diderikke Annette Anker (1838-1912). The family moved to Thorsø Manor (''Thorsø herregård'') at Torsnes when his father took over the estate. He attended Christiania Cathedral School and graduated in 1877. He graduated from the College of Agriculture (''Høiere landbruksskole'') (now Norwegian University of Life Sciences) at Ås in Akershus during 1880. This was followed by studies in Denmark and the United Kingdom. In 1885 he took over the Thorsø estate. He served as mayor of Torsnes for several years and held a number of other municipal positions. Thorsø or Tose is a farm located in the former municipality of Torsnes (until 1910 part of Borge) in Østfold county, Norway. The first written source found about this farm is from 1472, in the form of ''Tosowe''. This is one of three placenames in Østfold that are believed to derive from Old Norse ''Þórshof'' and thus indicate an old location for worshipping the Norse god Thor, a temple or "hof". Tove Pihl
Tove Agnethe Pihl (21 December 1924 – 20 January 1987) was a Norwegian educator and politician for the Labour Party. She was born in Kristiania as the daughter of professor in medicine Otto Lous Mohr and the noted activist Tove Mohr. Her maternal grandmother was Katti Anker Møller. Tove Pihl graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Rochester in 1948, and with a Master of Arts degree in pedagogy from the University of Chicago in 1949. She then worked as a school teacher and rector in Oslo, and was a member of the city school board from 1956. She was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Oslo in 1969, but was not re-elected in 1973. During her term, she was a member of the Standing Committee of Justice. Pihl also chaired the Norwegian Movement for Vietnam from 1973 to 1974, and was a member of the board of Nei til Atomvåpen from 1980 to 1986.
