Tour De Limousin
Tour du Limousin is a 4-day road bicycle race held annually in Limousin (region), Limousin, France. It was first held in 1968 and since 2005 it has been organised as a 2.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour. In 2011 it was upgraded to an 2.HC event, and downgraded to 2.1 since 2013. Système U (cycling Team)
Système U () was a French professional cycling team that existed from 1986 to 1988 and rode Gitane racing bikes. In 1989 the team was renamed Super U–Raleigh–Fiat and rode Raleigh bicycles. Super U was a chain of supermarkets owned by the Système U group. History A Système U team existed during the 1984 season (see Wolber–Spidel) with Marcel Boishardy as manager and was a continuation of the Wolber–Spidel team from the 1983 season. Renault () was a French professional cycling team that existed from 1978 to 1985. The team cycled on and promoted Gitane racing bikes. History The team was created in 1978 after the Renault auto group purchased the Gitane bicycle manufacturer and became the main sponsor of the Gitane–Campagnolo cycling team that was directed by former French cycling champion Cyrille Guimard and featured the promising young cyclist Bernard Hinault. Mercier was a French professional cycling team that promoted and raced on Mercier racing bikes. Together with the Peugeot (cycling team), Peugeot team, the Mercier team had a long presence in the road bicycle racing, cycling sport and in the Tour de France from 1935 until 1984. History was the main sponsor of the team from at least 1935 on until 1969. From 1946 on, the team wore a purple jersey which in 1950 became the characteristic purple jersey with yellow neck and cuff lining which was to stay with the team until Mercier was no longer the main sponsor of the team in 1969. Gitane–Campagnolo was a French professional cycling team that existed from 1969 to 1977. Its main sponsor was the French bicycle manufacturer Gitane. History The Sonolor team was created for the 1969 season after the Pelforth–Sauvage–Lejeune team ended in 1968. In 1974, the Gitane–Frigécrème team of directeur sportif Andre Desvrages was merged into the team creating Sonolor–Gitane. The team was called Gitane–Campagnolo from 1975–1977 and in 1975 signed 1971 French amateur champion Bernard Hinault.
