Tour 2003
''Tour 2003'' is a live and video album by Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band released in 2004. Overview After releasing ''Ringo Rama'' in 2003, Starr embarked on tour once more with his All-Starr Band and its ever-changing collective of musicians. From the previous band remained Mark Rivera, as does singing percussionist Sheila E. New to the mix are Paul Carrack of Squeeze and Mike + The Mechanics fame, Colin Hay from Australian band Men at Work and John Waite, a solo artist who also had fronted The Babys and Bad English. The performance included on the album is from the opening night of his Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band Tour 2003: Ringo Rama tour at the Casino Rama, just outside Toronto, Ontario in Canada. Despite this, the CD booklet for ''Tour 2003'' confusingly carries a review for a later August show in Detroit. Squeeze (band)
Squeeze are an English rock band that came to prominence in the United Kingdom during the new wave period of the late 1970s, and continued recording in the 1980s, 1990s and 2010s. In the UK, their singles " Cool for Cats", " Up the Junction", and "Labelled with Love" were top-ten chart hits; "Pulling Mussels" only made it to 44 in the UK charts. Though not as commercially successful in the United States, Squeeze had American hits with " Tempted", "Black Coffee in Bed", and " Hourglass", and were considered a part of the Second British Invasion. The vast majority of their material is composed of lyrics by Chris Difford and music by Glenn Tilbrook, who are guitarists and vocalists in the band. It Don't Come Easy
"It Don't Come Easy" is a song by English rock musician Ringo Starr that was released as a non-album single in April 1971. It was produced by Starr's former Beatles bandmate George Harrison, who also helped write the song, although only Starr is credited. Recording for the track took place in March 1970 at Trident Studios in London, with overdubs added in October. Starr and Harrison performed the song together in August 1971 at Harrison's Concert for Bangladesh shows in New York City, a recording from which was released on the live album of the same name. Starr has continued to perform it in subsequent decades with his All-Starr Band. Background and recording As the follow-up to ''I Wanna Be Santa Claus'' (1999), it continues Starr's alliance with Mark Hudson as well as most of his collaborators from that last project. Annoyed that Mercury had not put enough promotion towards ''I Wanna Be Santa Claus'', Starr left the label in 2000. Bad English
Bad English was an American/British glam metal supergroup formed in 1987. It reunited Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain with singer John Waite and bassist Ricky Phillips, his former bandmates in the Babys, along with Journey guitarist Neal Schon and drummer Deen Castronovo. The band is mainly known for their hit single "When I See You Smile", which peaked at No. 1 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in November 1989. The Babys are a British rock group best known for their songs " Isn't It Time" and "Every Time I Think of You". Both songs were composed by Jack Conrad and Ray Kennedy, and each reached No. 13 on the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and No. 8 on the '' Cashbox'' chart in the late 1970s. John Charles Waite (born 4 July 1952) is an English musician. As a solo artist, he has released ten studio albums and is best known for the 1984 hit single "Missing You", which reached No. 1 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and the top ten on the UK Singles Chart. He was also the lead vocalist for the successful rock bands The Babys and Bad English. Men At Work
Men at Work are an Australian rock band formed in Melbourne in 1978 and best known for breakthrough hits such as "Down Under", " Who Can It Be Now?", " Be Good Johnny", "Overkill", and " It's a Mistake". Its founding member and frontman is Colin Hay, who performs on lead vocals and guitar. After playing as an acoustic duo with Ron Strykert during 1978–1979, Hay formed the group with Strykert playing bass guitar and Jerry Speiser on drums. They were soon joined by Greg Ham on flute, saxophone, and keyboards and John Rees on bass guitar, with Strykert switching back to lead guitar.
