Toubkal
Toubkal (, ), also Jbel Toubkal or Jebel Toubkal, is a mountain in central Morocco, located in the Toubkal National Park. At , it is the highest peak in Morocco, the Atlas Mountains, North Africa and the Arab world. Located south of the city of Marrakesh, and visible from it, Toubkal is an ultra prominent peak, the highest for over . Toubkal is ranked 27th by topographic isolation. Geography Although much of the High Atlas consists of sedimentary rocks, the Toubkal massif is an area of volcanic rocks which have weathered into alpine crests, cut by deep, narrow valleys. Toubkal National Park
Toubkal National Park is a national park in the High Atlas mountain range, 70 kilometres from Marrakesh in central-western Morocco. Established in 1942, it covers an area of 380 km2. Jbel Toubkal is the highest peak of the park at 4,167 metres. Main attractions The Toubkal National Park offers many attractions to visitors. Climbing to the mountain peak takes two days and offers flowery landscapes in spring and colourful forests of cedar oaks and junipers in autumn. Atlas Mountains

Murders Of Louisa Vesterager Jespersen And Maren Ueland
On 17 December 2018, the bodies of Louisa Vesterager Jespersen, a 24-year-old Danish woman, and Maren Ueland, a 28-year-old Norwegian woman, were found decapitated in the foothills of Mount Toubkal near to the village of Imlil in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. A total of 18 men have been arrested by Moroccan Police in relation to the murders. The murders were described by the Moroccan general prosecutor as a terrorist act, after a video released on the Internet showed several of the suspects swearing allegiance to the Islamic State while decapitating Jespersen. Initially, detectives believed the crimes were sexually motivated, with witnesses and CCTV indicating the suspects followed the women. They were also camped 600 meters from the women. French authorities demanded extradition of the three assailants. Imlil, Atlas Mountains
Imlil (; ) is a small village in the high Atlas Mountains of Morocco. It is above sea level. A portrait of Imlil and the problems and prospects of Morocco's mountain populations appeared in 1984 in the book by James A. Miller called ''Imlil'' and published by Westview Press. It is close to the mountain Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in Northern Africa. Imlil makes a good base for attempting to summit Toubkal as it lies at the end of the tarmac road, and is a natural place to hire mountain guides and mules for the onward trek. Aroumd
Aroumd (pronounced "arr-umm-n-d", also spelt Armed, Around, Arempt) is a small Amazigh village in the Ait Mizane Valley of the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Its population is around 1,900. Its altitude is 1900 m above sea level. Aroumd is 40 minutes' walk up the valley from Imlil, and is quieter and seen as more traditional. Topographic Isolation
The topographic isolation of a summit is the minimum geographical distance, horizontal distance to a point of equal elevation, representing a radius of dominance in which the peak is the highest point. It can be calculated for small hills and islands as well as for major summit (topography), mountain peaks and can even be calculated for submarine summits.
