Tottenham University Technical College
Tottenham University Technical College, in London Borough of Haringey, Haringey, London, was a Secondary school, secondary educational institution focusing on education in the sciences, health and sports. It opened in September 2014 and closed in July 2017. The school was part of the Northumberland Development Project with Middlesex University as a partner, and part of the University Technical College program operated by the Baker Dearing Educational Trust. It was housed in a new building, above a new Sainsbury's supermarket, to the north of the former stadium White Hart Lane. The UTC closed at the end of the 2016–17 academic year, owing to low pupil numbers; in January 2017 there were 38 enrolled. The site became the home of the London Academy of Excellence Tottenham, a sixth-form college. The London Borough of Haringey (pronounced , same as Harringay) is a London borough in North London, classified by some definitions as part of Inner London, and by others as part of Outer London. It was created in 1965 by the amalgamation of three former boroughs. It shares borders with six other London boroughs. Northumberland Development Project
The Northumberland Development Project is a mixed-use development project that centres around the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium which replaced White Hart Lane as the home ground of Tottenham Hotspur. On opening in April 2019, the stadium had a capacity for 62,062 spectators, later increased to 62,303, and was designed to host football as well as NFL games. The development plans also include 585 new homes, a 180-room hotel, a local community health centre, the ''Tottenham Experience'', a Spurs museum and club shop, an extreme sports facility, as well as the ''Lilywhite House'', which contains a Sainsbury's supermarket, a sixth form college and the club's headquarters. Middlesex University London (legally Middlesex University and abbreviated MDX) is a public research university in Hendon, northwest London, England. The name of the university is taken from its location within the historic county boundaries of Middlesex. A university technical college (UTC) is a type of specialist secondary school in England that is led by a sponsor university and has close ties to local business and industry. These university and industry partners support the curriculum development of the UTC, can provide professional development opportunities for teachers, and guide suitably qualified students on to industrial apprenticeships or tertiary education. The sponsor university appoints the majority of the UTC's governors and key members of staff. Pupils transfer to a UTC at the age of 14, part-way through their secondary education. White Hart Lane
White Hart Lane was a football stadium in Tottenham, North London and the home of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club from 1899 to 2017. Its capacity varied over the years; when changed to all-seater it had a capacity of 36,284 before demolition. The stadium was fully demolished after the end of the 2016–17 season and was replaced by Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as the club's home ground. The stadium, which was known amongst Spurs fans as The Lane, had hosted 2,533 competitive Spurs games in its 118-year history. It had also been used for England national football matches and England under-21 football matches.
