Toto XIV
''Toto XIV'' is the thirteenth studio album by the American rock band Toto (though the band's fourteenth album overall, when one counts '' Toto XX''). Toto released the album on March 20, 2015. It is the band's first studio album since '' Falling in Between'' in 2006. The album marks the return of Joseph Williams on lead vocals and Steve Porcaro on keyboards and vocals, as well as the only album marking the return of its original bassist David Hungate (since ''Toto IV'' in 1982) before he left the band in September and the only album with drummer Keith Carlock. It is also the first studio album since 1982's ''Toto IV'' not to feature longtime bassist Mike Porcaro, who had been inactive since 2007 due to ALS and died five days before the album's release. Toto is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1977. Toto combines elements of Pop music, pop, Rock music, rock, Soul music, soul, funk, hard rock, Rhythm and blues, R&B, blues, and jazz. Having released 14 studio albums and sold over 50 million records worldwide, the group has received several Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2009. Keith Carlock
Keith Carlock (born November 29, 1971) is an American musician who has played drums with Toto, Wayne Krantz, Steely Dan, James Taylor, Donald Fagen, Walter Becker, Tal Wilkenfeld, John Mayer, Sting, Chris Botti, and Christopher Cross. In '' Modern Drummer's'' 2009 Readers Poll, he was voted best Pop, Fusion, and All-Around drummer. He is a member of the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame. Carlock was born in Clinton, Mississippi, and attended The University of North Texas. In October 2009, he released an instructional DVD called ''The Big Picture: Phrasing, Improvisation, Style, and Technique''. Carlock met and began playing with Steely Dan in the late 1990s, starring on their album ''Two Against Nature'' released in 2000 and then ''Everything Must Go'' released in 2003. Martin Tillman
Martin Tillman (born 6 November 1964) is a Swiss cellist and composer. Biography Tillman was born in Zürich, Switzerland, in 1964. He arrived in the US in 1988. He has since performed/composed on numerous films, television shows, commercials and international tours. Lenny Castro (born September 19, 1956) is an American percussionist from the Los Angeles area. He is one of the most prolific percussionists of all time, appearing on hundreds of albums, including those by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Adele, Maroon 5, U2, Earth, Wind & Fire, and the Rolling Stones, among others. Leland Bruce Sklar (born May 28, 1947) is an American bassist and session musician. He rose to prominence as a member of James Taylor's backing band, which coalesced into a group in its own right, The Section, which supported so many of Asylum Records' artists that they became known as Asylum's ''de facto'' house band, as those artists became iconic singer-songwriters of the 1970s. David Frank Paich (born June 25, 1954) is an American keyboardist, singer, and songwriter, best known as the co-founder, principal songwriter, keyboardist, and secondary vocalist of the rock band Toto (band), Toto since 1977. He wrote or co-wrote much of Toto's original material, including the band's three most popular songs: "Hold the Line", "Rosanna (song), Rosanna", and "Africa (Toto song), Africa". With Toto, Paich has contributed to 17 albums and sold over 40 million records. He and guitarist and singer Steve Lukather are the only members to appear on every studio album. Biography Michael Sherwood was a US keyboardist and singer who came from a musical family which included his father Bobby Sherwood, who was an actor, musician, and big band leader; his mother Phyllis, a drummer and singer; and younger brother Billy (Yes, ASIA).
