Torsten Magnusson
Torsten Karl Adolf Magnusson (24 December 1907 – 24 November 1987) was a Swedish physicist and defense research scientists. Magnusson was Director-General of the Swedish National Defence Research Institute (FOA) from 1968 to 1974 and was one of the prominent figures of the Swedish nuclear weapons program. Early life Magnusson was born on 24 December 1907 in Vreta Kloster parish, Östergötland County, Sweden, the son of Carl Magnusson, a station master, and his wife Signe (née Samuelsson). He received a Bachelor of Arts degree (fil.kand.) from Uppsala University in 1929, Master of Philosophy (fil.mag.) in 1932, Licentiate of Philosophy (fil.lic.) in 1936 and Doctor of Philosophy (fil.dr.) in 1938 with a dissertation on X-ray spectroscopy. Sundbyberg Municipality
Sundbyberg Municipality (''Sundbybergs kommun'' or ''Sundbybergs stad'') is a municipality in Stockholm County in east central Sweden, just north of the capital Stockholm. Sundbyberg is wholly within the Stockholm urban area and has a 100% urban population. Sundbyberg was detached from Bromma (which since 1916 is in Stockholm Municipality) in 1888 as a market town (''köping''). It got the title of a city in 1927. In 1949 parts of Solna Municipality and Spånga Municipality (when the rest of Spånga was amalgamated into Stockholm) were added. A proposed merger with Solna in 1971 was never implemented, making Sundbyberg, with an area of , the smallest municipality in Sweden, but also the most densely populated. Martin Fehrm
Erik Martin Fehrm (8 March 1910 – 6 August 2001) was a Swedish engineer and civil servant. He was mainly active at the Swedish National Defence Research Institute (FOA), where he served as Director General from 1957 to 1968. Early life Fehrm was born on 8 March 1910 in Järna, Vansbro Municipality, Sweden, the son of Fritz Fehrm, a bookseller, and his wife Klara (née Matsson). He passed ''studentexamen'' in Falun and initiated studies at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, from which he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering in 1932. Career With a keen interest in radio technology, he received the following year employment at the Royal Swedish Army Materiel Administration. In 1940, Fehrm came as a 3rd degree flight engineer to the Royal Swedish Air Force Materiel Administration, where he would stay until the war was over. The Royal Order of the Polar Star (Swedish: ''Kungliga Nordstjärneorden'') is a Swedish order of chivalry created by King Frederick I on 23 February 1748, together with the Order of the Sword and the Order of the Seraphim. The Order of the Polar Star was until 1975 intended as a reward for Swedish and foreign "civic merits, for devotion to duty, for science, literary, learned and useful works and for new and beneficial institutions". Its motto is, as seen on the blue enameled centre of the badge, ''Nescit Occasum'', a Latin phrase meaning "It knows no decline".
