Toropylivka Railway Station
Toropylivka (Ukrainian: Торопилівка) is a railway station in Stepanivka, Sumy Oblast, Ukraine. The station serves as a minor passenger station as well as a major freight yard for nearby businesses in Stepanivka. It is on the Sumy Branch of Southern Railways on the Bilopillya-Basy line. Toropylivka is located between the stations of Sumy ( away) and Holovashivka ( away). History The station dates back to its opening in 1895.* Arkhangelsky A.S., Arkhangelsky V.A. in two books. - M.: Transport, 1981. (rus.) The reason for the discovery was the construction of a sugar factory in 1893, which needed a railway to supply raw materials. The station probably got its name from the village of Toropylivka, which was located away. (The village no longer exists.) Sumy (Ukrainian: Суми) is a railway station in Sumy, Ukraine. It is a major freight and passenger station, the main one of the Sumy Directorate of Southern Railways on the Bilopillya-Basy line. It is located in the north of Kovpakivskyi District of Sumy. History The construction of the railway from Vorozhba to Merefa in 1877 can be considered the beginning of the history of the Sumy-Pasazhyrskyi station, as this was when its foundation was laid. In 1878, the sound of a steam locomotive was heard for the first time at the station, which marked the beginning of the rapid economic and cultural development of the city of Sumy. Vorozhba () is a railway station in Vorozhba, Ukraine. It is a major passenger and freight station at the junction of the Khutir-Mykhailivskyi-Konotop, Vorozhba-Konotop, Vorozhba-Volfyne, and Bilopillia-Vorozhba lines of Southwestern Railways.
