Toronto Tempo
The Toronto Tempo are a Canadian professional basketball team based in Toronto. The Tempo will compete in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) as a member of the Eastern Conference; they are scheduled to begin play in 2026. The team will play its home games at Coca-Cola Coliseum. The Tempo will be the first WNBA team located outside of the United States and the first in Canada. The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is a women's professional basketball league in the United States. The league comprises 13 teams (scheduled to expand to 15 in 2026). The WNBA is headquartered in Midtown Manhattan. The WNBA was founded on April 24, 1996, as the women's counterpart to the National Basketball Association (NBA); league play began in 1997. The Toronto Marlies are a professional ice hockey team based in Toronto. They compete in the American Hockey League (AHL) as a member of the North Division of the Eastern Conference.
